Re: Game Thread: #9 Butler @ La Salle (Wednesday 1/23/13)
What, no graceful congratulations from Title_BU?? Shocking.
Nice win, LaSalle.

Re: Game Thread: #9 Butler @ La Salle (Wednesday 1/23/13)
It has been a while for the explorers beating a top 10 team. Long before I was born. I will say the atmosphere in the crowed from the opening tip was just amazing. It was pure joy when the game was over, for a small arena, and a group of fans that I have been critical of before they showed up last night. The entire crowd stood the final 5 or so minutes and really kept the energy up. I was part of the group that stormed the court, and even though there were plenty out there who had only been to a few games prior, they were still jumping with joy. This is the type of win a program like La Salle needed. They cant rest on this though, but this is the type of win that can help boost a program that has struggled the way they have. On a side note, Ramon Galloway is dealing with some very heavy family issues( why he didnt start, and presumably why he has struggled lately) and the way he showed up on the last play after struggling all game shows how valuable he is and how he is always a game changer.

Congratulations to the Explorers. That was a great win. Give credit where credit is due, especially given that it also sounds like you put together a strong home environment for the game last night.

Re: Game Thread: #9 Butler @ La Salle (Wednesday 1/23/13)
Without Clark, La Salle's gaurds definitely took advantage of Aldridge out there. Duren owned him.
I really like Kellen Dunham's game, smooth player. I got to the game early enough to watch Rotnei take warmups alone, man oh man that kid can shoot. It seemed like he shot about 95% from 3 in the 5-10 minutes he was doing drills. I'll take La Salle over any A10 team at home for the rest of the schedule. The road games are a different story. |

Dunham's only a freshman I believe. He's going to be insanely good by his senior year.
Jones was absolutely killing us. He scored at will in the first half and his touch was soft. |

And great win...really awkward court-storming as the first people out had to run halfway down the sideline to the end of the bench to get on the floor. |

Re: Game Thread: #9 Butler @ La Salle (Wednesday 1/23/13)
I admit I was a little disappointed in the outcome. One of my simple pleasures is visiting the A10's Number 1 unofficial website and watching Steve vent after the refs steal yet another victory from the Explorers. He's a very handsome man when he's angry. And yet even after a win he still comes up with gems like this "The Explorers built a 4-3 lead".
He's our Yogi Berra. And I guess Title would be our Bill Belichick. |
