Re: Could the best team in the CAA win the A-10?
Can NU win the A10 this year. No.
Based on the evidence you supplied. An even stronger no. Point of fact, Richmond's best two wins were without their best (or one of) players. Winning with injuries is an indication of a team's strength or lack thereof. Going 0-3 against the conference you'd suggest NU could win, injuries or not, is self-explanatory. Actually, I guess it's not, but now enough of us have explain it to you it's at least group explanatory. However, I'm not as quick to dismiss your proposal as others. VCU is doing just fine in the A10. Many of us a couple of years ago would have snorted at the suggestion a CAA team like them could win our league. (Anybody else notice some poster as an aside suggested the top of the CAA recently was better than the top of the A10? Huh? When?) Also, though it was a decade or so ago, Richmond jumped ship and competed just fine at the onset. That being said, it looks like neither one of us will win the A10 in our first year but the gap between leagues isn't as big as we'd contend. NU might have a shot a the top of half of the A10 but with the logjam that is the thick middle of our conference, that might also meant they are still only the ~11th best team in the league.

After yesterday's home loss to Georgia State, northeastern is 151 in the Pomeroy ratings, putting it roughly on par with Rhode Island.

This is just one of the silliest topics I've read on these A10 boards, and that's saying something.

Top 10? I really doubt it. Look at the standings in the A10 right now. 8 of NU's wins are in a watered down CAA. They're 0-3 against A10 opponents. I think they'd sit somewhere around 14th.
