Rhody may have lost but did cover the spread. Big student turnout helped make it the biggest crowd of the year with 6,632. Fairly impressive number for a 6-13 team coming off a 7-24 season the previous year.

The RC was rocking last night! Even in loss, this team impresses me.
Also, I love me some Shaka Smart. His style of play is, well, pure HAVOC!

About 2900 students there last night, and there's plenty more seats available if more students would like to attend future games.

Nice game last night. Glad the Rams could pull one off in what appeared on tv to be a rocking venue.
Can any of the longtime A-10ers tell me why in the hell are A-10 teams playing their best games against VCU. lol. URI goes down 15 points late, is 2-13 from three. Then all of a sudden goes 4-4 in the last 3 minutes. Ramon Galloway drops 31 points on 12 shots against VCU on the road, then score 16 on 18 shots last night in a home loss! Damn this league is fun! |

well you got our second best game, SLU got our best game lol
Both teams played hard and forced turnovers, like everyone else is probably saying if URI cleans up the turnovers and plays like that every game they be tough to beat

Kyle Whelliston's The Mid Majority has a team of dozens of freelance writers and college hoop fans who travel the country to report on non-BCS games. Raymond Curren took in the game last night and posted his report, including some photos of the excellent student turnout:
http://www.midmajority.com/p/3354 It was rocking in there, but nowhere how loud the place can be when it's 7000+ or sold-out.  Students populated both end-zones, since the North end-zone (Seen in first photo above) was full.
