Re: If the season ended today (Updated through games of 3/2)
What's at stake on Saturday (that we know so far):
Conference Champion: -SLU wins conference with a win over La Salle -VCU wins conference with a win and a SLU loss -La Salle wins conference with a win over SLU and a VCU loss (would win 3 way tie breaker) 13th Place: GW finishes 13th with a loss to Dayton Dayton finishes 13th with a loss to GW and wins by SBU, Richmond and Charlotte Charlotte finishes 13th with a loss to SJU and GW beats Dayton Duquesne has clinched 16th Fordham gets 14th with a win and URI loss URI gets 14th with either a win or Fordham loss

Re: If the season ended today (Updated through games of 3/6)
wow, based on UD's 3-0 record against Charlotte, UR and SBU, I had thought they were secure - like UR - to make it to Brooklyn.
But as always the case with UD, there is an apocalyptic scenario. And it's very much in play. GW is playing for its life at home. Only chance to make BK is to win. Richmond plays the Dukes in Richmond. Likely UR win. Bonnies play Fordham in Olean. Likely SBU win. Charlotte hosts St. Joes. Charlotte must win to ensure itself passage to Brooklyn. I'm glad UR is in (I think, will wait until tomorrow to fully review everything) but man, it's tense for 13th place. This league is unreal this season.

What if GW wins and either one or none of SBU & UR win? And to complicate things add Charlotte's two possible outcomes. |

Only GW losing to finish 6-10 saves Charlotte if they lose.

Re: If the season ended today (Updated through games of 3/2)
Charlotte also still has a chance of finishing 7th, which is crazy. They had a chance at 6th until Xavier pulled out their win over SLU. So could be one game to determine if they finish in the top half or don't make the conference tournament, depending on other results. Ended up beating and losing to the wrong teams this year for tiebreaker scenarios.

Re: If the season ended today (Updated through games of 3/6)
Here are some best and worst case scenarios right now:
Saint Louis Best case: Clinch #1 seed with win over La Salle and outright title with VCU loss to Temple Worse case: Clinch #3 seed with loss to La Salle and VCU beats Temple VCU Best case: Clinch #1 seed with win over Temple and Saint Louis loss to La Salle Worst case: Clinch #3 seed with loss to Temple and La Salle win over Saint Louis (3-way tie at 12-4; VCU would be 0-2 against Saint Louis and La Salle) La Salle Best case: Clinch #1 seed with win over Saint Louis and VCU win over Temple Worst case: Clinch #4 seed with loss to Saint Louis and Temple win over VCU Temple Best case; Clinch #3 seed with win over VCU and La Salle loss to Saint Louis Worst case: Clinch #6 seed with loss to VCU and finish in 4-way tie with Butler, Xavier and UMass (by virtue of 1-2 record vs. group) Butler Best case: Clinch #4 seed with wins over UMass and Xavier and Temple loss to VCU (they lose any tiebreaker over La Salle and possible 3-way tiebreak with La Salle and Temple) Worst case: Clinch #7 seed with losses to UMass and Xavier and UMass wins at URI (they do win a tiebreaker with Saint Joe's for #7) Xavier Best case: Clinch #4 seed with win over Butler AND Temple loses to VCU AND UMass loses to either Butler or URI Worst case: Clinch #8 seed with loss to Butler AND UMass beats either Butler or URI AND Saint Joe's beats Charlotte (Xavier loses tiebreakers to UMass and Saint Joe's) UMass Best case: Clinch #5 seed with wins over Butler and URI AND Temple loses to VCU AND Xavier loses to Butler (forces a 3-way tie with Temple and Butler and assumes Saint Louis clinches #1 seed) Worst case: Clinch #9 seed with losses to Butler and URI AND finishes in 6-way tie with Dayton, St. Bona, Charlotte, Richmond and Saint Joe's Saint Joe's Best case: Clinch #6 seed with win over Charlotte AND Xavier loss to Butler AND UMass loses to Butler and URI Worst case: Clinch #12 seed with loss to Charlotte AND finishes in 6-way tie with Dayton, St. Bona, UMass, Charlotte and Richmond Dayton Best case: Clinch #8 seed with win over GW AND Charlotte beats Saint Joe's (Dayton would win a multi-team tiebreak by virtue of 2-0 record against the group) Worst case: Misses A-10 Tournament with loss to GW AND win by Richmond over Duquesne AND win by St. Bona over Fordham AND win by Charlotte over Saint Joe's Richmond Best case: Clinch #8 seed with win over Duquesne AND Saint Joe's loses to Charlotte AND Dayton loss to GW AND St. Bona loses to Fordham (forces 3-way tiebreak with Saint Joe's and Charlotte with each team having a 1-1 record against each other; Richmond would have the edge by virtue of win over VCU IF VCU finishes above Temple) Worst case: Clinch #12 seed with loss to Duquesne AND Dayton beats GW AND St. Bona beats Fordham AND Charlotte beats Saint Joe's St. Bonaventure Best case: Clinch #7 seed with win over Fordham AND UMass loses to Butler and URI AND Charlotte beats Saint Joe's AND GW beats Dayton AND Richmond loses to Duquesne Worst case: Misses the tournament with loss to Fordham AND GW beats Dayton AND Charlotte beats Saint Joe's Charlotte Best case: Clinch #7 seed with win over Saint Joe's AND UMass loses to Butler and URI AND Dayton loses to GW AND Richmond loses to Duquesne AND St. Bona loses to Fordham Worst case: Misses the tournament with loss to Saint Joe's AND GW beats Dayton AND Richmond beats Duquesne AND St. Bona beats Fordham George Washington Best case: Clinches #11 seed with win over UD AND Richmond loss to Duquesne AND St. Bona loss to Fordham AND Charlotte loss to Saint Joe's to force 5-way tiebreak at 7-9 Worst case: Miss A-10 Tournament with loss to Dayton |
