Re: Game Thread: Xavier @ Dayton (Saturday 2/16/13)
Xavier with a textbook fast break and Christon is fouled on the finish. Great looking board/outlet/quick pass runout off an ordinary shot/rebound. That should be a clip every team watches.

Re: Game Thread: Xavier @ Dayton (Saturday 2/16/13)
Xavier finally attacking the hoop, but probably too late.
I'm sure I'm late to this but every time I look at Dillard I keep waiting for Avon and Stringer to show up looking to snuff him.

Congrats Flyers. An all around solid performance.
Sincerely and truthfully, I'd be upset that this level of play hasn't been achieved on a more consistent basis. |

Dayton wins handily. Nice job. May see you again in New York.
X didn't play to their strengths today. Needed to feed Taylor/Robinson more in the second half. Have to correct some stuff to finish out the year strong.

Re: Game Thread: Xavier @ Dayton (Saturday 2/16/13)
This might be the second game of the year where I thought we played D like we should. This team could be good if they did that consistantly.
The X game at UD Arena has turned into an annual whooping. The margins of victory have been very healthy lately.

Re: Game Thread: Xavier @ Dayton (Saturday 2/16/13)
This game has me angry. Very happy and proud of the win. But why do we need the extra motivation of Xavier to play with focus? Why don't we have "something to prove" against Rhode Island? If we brought that sort of focus to every game, or even to 70% of our games, we could actually be relevant in the A10 this year. Really frustrating.
But Jalen Robinson was great. The seniors really came to play. Feels great, if only for a day. |

Re: Game Thread: Xavier @ Dayton (Saturday 2/16/13)
This was a very nice performance by Archie and the Flyers. But I think it's a formula that we should have arrived at earlier in the year. More passing from Dillard, less Benson in post situations, more of our other 3 bigs on the court, more Pierre taking the ball to the hoop off the dribble, less +15 foot jumpers from Oliver, more effort, organization and accountability on defense. If they burn up the end of the season, I'll forgive Archie.

Re: Game Thread: Xavier @ Dayton (Saturday 2/16/13)
If UD does get left out of the BE7+Xavier/Butler conference, I think the intensity from the UD side will only heat up if X and UD enter into an OOC series. The jealousy of Xavier will be amplified even more from the UD fanbase.
