Even old dunkie makes an appearance. I guess it's a safe bet that UD finally won and the triumvirate feel it's safe to come out and play. It can't be long before squiddy comes back too. The triumvirate are as predictable as they come.

Follow up article on the Christi Mack situation. Even response from Coach Mack and UD says that the perps weren't UD students.

From the reports of people sitting nearby (and i spoke to some) one would think she was just told she had cancer. I"M GONNA DIE!

And I can tell you without hesitation that Ive been all over the world and parts of Indiana and Ive never NEVER felt safer in ANY ANYpublic building than I do @ UD Arena.

This is not a good UD team. X fans enjoy pointing that out this entire year. Dayton outclassed X from the get go in this game.
The surprise for me was just how easy it was to beat them.
Dayton puched em in the face for the first four minutes and X laid down.
Dayton never trailed.
I never felt like the game was in question.

Dayton beat X's ass and insulted the coaches wife to the point she had a nervous break down....pretty solid day I'de say..

Wow....I don't even know where to start with this one. As far as whether the perps were students, alums, or "just" fans....I don't really care. Bottom line is the UD Arena officials handled it correctly. There is NO place in college athletics for this type of behavior. I don't think it reflects any differently on the school whether they are students, alum or otherwise. The school had people at the game doing something over they shouldn't do, and they handled it. Congrats to UD.

Honestly, I'd be more embarrassed for the University of Dayton if YOU were a student or alum. This is really one of the most ridiculous posts I've ever read on this board--and that is saying something. Did Christi Mack overreact? Perhaps, but then I've never been heckled as being a BITCH by the fans of the same school that I had a HOF career at.

Furthermore, you talk about overreacting? "one of the worse (your spelling, not mine) shows of poor sportsmanship one could ever imagine"....really? Throwing the ball at Wes Coffey is one of the worst shows of sportsmanship you can imagine? A nineteen year old FOLLOWS the orders of his coach, throws a ball at Wes Coffey, tries to shake hands after the game, APOLOGIZES in a letter to Wes Coffey (which Coffey accepts and urges others to do as well), and LEAVES the school because he doesn't want to play for a coach that would ask a player to do that sort of thing? This qualifies as the worst sportsmanship you can imagine and because of ONE thing he did at the age of 19 (which he immediately regretted) he's one of the biggest jerks on the planet?

Seriously, of all the bad things that go on and are forgiven, UD fans have to let this one go. If the story ended with that game and you knew nothing else about the situation, I'd understand the hatred. But it doesn't. We know the rest of the story. UD fans need to let this one go because it just makes you look ignorant and petty. I'm not expecting anybody to buy him a beer and become best friends, but judging a person on the single action of a 19 year old kid, on scholarship, who knows that playing time is all about doing what coach says, in the heat of the battle....wow. Who's the one overreacting?

Well, no sh*t! Of course you felt safest in your HOME building. I've never had any issues at UD personally, but I've been to a ton of other gyms in the country....and I've never felt in danger in any of them either.

Finally, you seem to be arguing that this detracts from the game talk....that X fans are using this to deflect talk away from the game. No one is arguing that UD didn't kick X's ass. I said it...as did countless others. But your final statement is an embarrassment to the school you represent. I have no idea how old you are, but you sound incredibly immature and yet you know well the story of Mack from 25 years ago. My fear is that you are an "adult"--air quotes intended--which would be equally embarrassing.

I will join with everyone else in agreeing that this behavior was unacceptable and embarrassing to my alma mater. But, at the same time, something doesn't quite make sense to me... Christi Mack was a fierce competitor at UD. I remember watching her, and she got riled up easily (in a good way). I have also seen her cheer her butt off for Xavier, with an intense, focused scowl on her face as if she is part of the team. I remember her being very animated during the Baylor NCAA tournament game last year in particular, but I have seen it other times too. No doubt that competitive fire never leaves you.

Now the same fierce competitor cries when she is called a "bitch" and probably some other things that are worse? Especially in the heat of battle, I just can't imagine it.

BTW, I am in not saying I don't believe it happened or anything. Obviously it did. It just seems so strange to me.

Good point, Cobra. (Frankly I don't remember seeing the ESPN cameras show Christi.) Were the daughters there? Is that why she could have been more upset if her daughters were with her hearing the remarks?

Not sure about the daughters being there, but I would think the articles would have said so if they were. It certainly would have made the actions far more unforgivable.

Second, i would recommend no one ever allow this woman to hear the word bitch.
Obviously it causes her to go into some frantic seizure type mode.
It reminds of the three stooges episodes where whenever Curly sees a mouse, he gets violent, and screams "Moe! Larry! Cheese!"

I can't help but to think that perhaps if only someone had shoved some Gouda down here throat this entire overblown episode could have been avoided.

Perhaps in order to heal these awful wounds it might be best to make lite of it. Maybe they can make another video.
