Re: Taunting UD students target XU coach's wife found to be false
I'm having a hard time following this.
First tman cuts an entire post out of another thread, to start this thread. Then he says he didn't do that, when he clearly did. His premise for this entire thread is that the Archdeacon guy is clearly wrong, and the chanters were not students or former students of UD. The problem with that is that were former students of UD. Now he suggests that a piece of cheese might be a suitable answer to have prevented all this stuff. I suggest that tman go to Christi Mack's HOF induction ceremony and volunteer as a waiter to serve cheese. It's obvious that some Dayton fans do not think very highly of the HOF players who represent their university far better than they could ever hope to do so. I'm not sure why Christi Mack reacted the way it has been reported. Perhaps it was an over-reaction. Perhaps she was shocked that fans of her alma mater, which was getting ready to honor her, would think so poorly of her accomplishments.

effing hilarious. To all you Flyer fans who rant on and on about most Dayton fans not being muddy delusional, I give you yet another in a long line of clearly off kilter 'fans.' You guys have an epidemic of lunacy among your ranks.

I shared this thread with twoman and she call Tom Archdeacon, drove right down to UD Arena, busted through the secruity rope, walked onto the playing floor and yelled at the top of her lungs that she knew Dr Pol..... Who Knew? |

Dayton fans love to call themselves "classy". In my experience, they are about as "classy" as WWE fans. These are the same fans that booed as Rotnei Clarke was on the ground after a cheap shot was put on him. You guys really are no better than Wright State...

Nothing says "I am an idiot" like using the word "classy", whether you are bragging about yourself or trying to talk down to others. Put your nose down. I don't care who you are or what laundry you hold dear, do not use classy unless it's 2005 and you are quoting Ron Burgundy. The words yelled at Christi Hester were terrible, the act of a couple cowardly morons who likely had a few dozen ounces of a-hole juice in their belly. The idiots took off nearly as fast as they said the words, only to return a while later thinking the coast was clear. It wasn't, and they rightfully were booted. The whole story is overblown.

Oh my Gawd, Mrs. Mack went ON TO THE FLOOR!?! And she said "I KNOW SOMEBODY!".
Tman, you are loony. Never happened like that, and for you to attack a dayton Hall of Famer is beyond pathetic, it's downright insane. You are defending the personal attacks like that? Keep on keepin on I guess, because you just look more and more like a pathetic fool. Please note, I didn't say you are a pathetic fool, just that you look like one.

Re: Taunting UD students target XU coach's wife found to be false
If I could market the bait that tman laid out here into something tangible, I might actually try to fish, it would be that easy. Because in reality I'm tired of sitting in the damm boat waiting for some lazy bass to snack on a wheatieball or worm. The only upside is I get an excuse to drink away from my wife for hours.
I mean seriously, this is like the "I-75 pileup' of threads. You see it coming, do everything you can to avoid it, but in the end you end up hoping Flo from Progressive will be on the other line when you hit an 18 wheeler turned sideways. Tman, you're not doing us any favors. Just like those guys don't represent all of UD fans (and most reasonable people agree, even Chris Mack said that), you're tirade doesn't mean the rest of us feel that way. There's ways to cheer and there's ways to not. I think culpability lies on both sides. I think Christi could have been calmer in her handling of the situation, and clearly those guys were out of line. I don't see what the U could have done differently other then stop the game and clear out the entire student section to appease everyone. The guys took off, they came back and got tossed. An apology was given. Can't ask for more. I was in the military. I've been called worse then what she was called. I've seen women troops called worse by female drill sergeants. When you have someone 2 inches from your face calling you every name in the book, you better show strength. So to go to the Book of Dalton, I quote 'So what if someone calls my mama a hoe?' 'Is she?' Point being, don't take it personal. If anything the onus was on those select few who chose to open their liquid courage fueled mouths. it happens.

Re: Taunting UD students target XU coach's wife found to be false
Chris,
I mostly agree with your points. My only issue is the "Did you see what she was wearin'?" type mentality. How she handled it, should have NO bearing on the rightness or wrongness of the action. From the get go, we've all commended UD's handling of the situation. They acted quickly and correctly. Blaming the victim here is asinine. Whether she overreacted or not, shouldn't be the issue. The fact is, that calling the wife of the opposing coach a B**ch isn't right. To defend it is ludicrous. Tman, felt that beating X and getting Christi Mack to cry....well that's a pretty good day. That tells me about all I need to know about tman. Who knows why she reacted the way she did. On the other thread, a couple of thoughts were offered: were the kids there? what did she really hear? what did she think she heard? maybe the fact that we're talking about the place where somebody put in 4 hard hall of fame years and the same people who supposedly support you and your school, turn around and call you some pretty heinous names? It's one thing to be yelled at by your drill sgt. It's another to be stabbed in the back by the people who were supposed to support you. |

Re: Taunting UD students target XU coach's wife found to be false
This whole soap opera is kind of the reverse of an incident at Yankee Stadium a few years ago. Seems that dainty young flower who was AROD's wife at the time showed up in the seats with a shirt that read F@#k You on the back in big letters. Dont recall if they tossed her, they should have but it did not happen a second time. IMO, Dayton did the correct thing by tossing the idiots when they were able to catch them. Never been to Dayton and I do not know where Mrs. Mack was sitting, but if it was directly behind the X bench, the arena should have a security guard there at all times facing the crowd. This is done at Fordham
