Okay so ESPN is reporting that Xavier, Butler, and mystery team are going to C7 this year. Dayton, St. Louis, and Creighton go next year.

Who is ESPN's mystery team?

That's what the article said:

"While Butler, Xavier and a team yet to be determined are expected to join the new Big East this fall, the Catholic 7 schools are also expected to add Creighton, Dayton and St. Louis in 2014 for a 13-team league."

I'm not sure it's not an error, though.

Obviously it is Duquesne, which is why the Dukes got a commitment from the #20 Center in the country yesterday.

Maybe I don't have the most recent update. It sounds like Creighton for 10 this year, which means Marquette got what it wanted.
But I can't see an unbalanced league with 7 in the Midwest and 5 in the East in 2014.
Just doesn't make sense to me.

I think they're just leaving open the possibility that Notre Dame could need a home next season. Three schools would bring it up to 12 in 14-15.

i'll be the first asshole. i'm calling for a ban on butler and xavier to participate in the conference tourney this year.

I will not second that. Our TV contract is a joke compared to what C7 are going to get. Any team in its right mind leaves when you 10x your TV money.

I lay this at the feet of Bruno. That terrible TV deal she struck with CBS has relegated us to permanent second class.

Wish we could have forced La Salle and Fordham to address their facilities as well.
