Re: Dan Hurley
I think Pecora is safe. I can't imagine Martelli being fired after this season.

Re: Dan Hurley
3rd year, if our losses this year haven't been blowouts, seat wouldn't be warm at all. 18-10 right now, only won 10 & 13 games his first 2 seasons.

Re: Dan Hurley
If he is hired, Xavier certainly likes kicking Rhody when it is down. X routed URI on the court this season, is probably departing the A-10 and helping to leave it in a very diminished state for remaining teams like Rhody, and now to top it off may steal the Rhode Island AD on top of all that. Ouch! What's next?

Re: Dan Hurley
I would not put Pecora on the entirely safe list. We have a new AD and word is he is none too pleased w/ Pecora, not just the record, but the drubbings the team has received. Pecora recently got an extension and that is likely saving his hide right now. He will undoubtedly be on the proverbial hot-seat next season.

Re: Dan Hurley
Major I think is safe for at least one more year - he should have a better shot at making the NCAAs in C-USA next season. That league is much easier compared to the A-10 this year.
Martelli is going to have the hottest seat just by virtue of their failed expectations so far; if he's not fired or on a short leash, then it's safe to say that he's got a lifetime gig at Saint Joe's. Pecora - I'd agree with Ace here. He needs another season, but it's always dicey when you hire a new AD. Fordham needed that change badly. |
