Times have changed
For me as a SLU fan, the A-10 really grew on me. 3 years ago when I got on this board, I was a Missouri Valley hawk for SLU instead of the A-10. I thought of the close proximity of opponents was better than the higher competition level of this league. I didn't really know a whole lot about the league at all.
Fast forward to today, and I personally have grown to appreciate everybody in the league. Maybe we're in it 1 more year, who knows. But the competition in this league is fun, friendly rivalries, and I look forward to every A-10 game. I thank the fans of all the schools for making this an enjoyable adventure.

SLU has been thru some tough times and handled them remarkably well. Look for them to go far in the Dance. Great facility and program. Hope to see 'ya on the other side.

Re: Times have changed
It's sad because I would have liked to make the long road trip to SLU to watch Hurley's Rams take on Majerus' Bills... Not only has Majerus passed but SLU and Rhody likely won't play much anymore down the road.

Re: Times have changed
I actually attended the SLU game against St. Joes a few weeks ago. Fantastic stadium and atmosphere, SLU knows what it's doing. Students who arrive 2 hours early get free food and 2$ beers until tipoff. I hope they stay in the A10, obviously, but if they don't I will cheer for SLU whenever they are in the tournament.

Re: Times have changed
A league seems like a lot more fun when your team is winning!

Re: Times have changed
I echo your statements, El Shaqtus. I have come to really love the A-10. The conference accepted Dayton when we didn't have a pot to piss in, and I'm really thankful for that. Then the conference kept adding strong teams: SLU and Richmond were great additions. This year was one of the best with additions of VCU and Butler, too bad it only lasted one year.
My only gripe: I wish the conference could have established a stronger conference tournament tradition.
