We have Philly covered and Drexel plays in a tiny dungeon. Davidson keeps us in the Charlotte area and pins down a solid southern division in the A10.

Drexel's 'gym' is a joke. They don't field baseball. We already have 2 PHilly schools.

It's too bad that we can't be certain what's going to happen with SLU. Bradley would be a good addition, but they would never make the move unless they were assured that SLU and Dayton were here for the long haul. Detroit, or Cleveland St. would be lower risk, as they are contiguous, and would still be a decent fit even if Dayton left. However, Cleveland, and Detroit don't really help SLU, as both cities are quite far from St. Louis, at 560, and 530 miles respectively.

This is terrible. Terrible. They would have been a good addition like 8 years ago. Now just another mid-major.

For a little perspective, coming from a Northeastern fan, I am going to miss George Mason. They were that team you knew you could always find ways to beat. Really, really bad addition for the A-10. Good lord.

This is an awful move, done in a panic mode. gmu has an awful team this year, classless fans, classless team, lame coach, lame recruiting and brings nothing in terms of a new tv market or footprint for the A-10.
They did nothing, absolutely nothing to promote and build off their final 4 run and it cost them their coach because they wouldn't invest in their program.
I would be very interested to know whether the A-10 is paying any of their CAA exit fee with exit fee revenue from those leaving. Believe me, mason won't come up with the money.
The A-10 teams will not enjoy this move at all.

Not a bad addition considering what else is out there. Recent final four team, competitive in basketball, major NOVA market, decent facilities. Gives GW a local rival as well as rekindles rivalries with UR and VCU.

Some SLU fans told me at the A-10 tourney in Brooklyn that SLU moving is not at all going to happen...if they really know what's up.

Drexel's gym is the equivalent of a high school gym in the middle floor of a multi-story building.

Totally agree. I would hope that SJU and LaSalle keep Drexel & Delaware OUT. We dont need a 3rd Philly team.

God, I hope not. Siena has not been good since McCaffery left.

Among other reasons, we don't need 3 teams in Philadelphia, even though that has been the situation since Temple joined. Even putting aside the Philadelphia thing, nothing about Drexel jumps out at me about strengthening the conference.

WSU is obviously good, but man, that's far out there even WITH the current structure, and worse if SLU and Dayton do leave.
