Chris has been a good Hawk, and we really can't ask for much more than that. A known quantity in terms of his skills and weaknesses, but a good Hawk. If not for him, we might not have gotten Bembry, Demery, or Lodge.

“I would say just being a pure point guard and understanding that scoring isn’t the most important thing and understanding that some nights I need to get 16 or 20 for us to win,” he said of what has been his impact at St. Joe’s. “Being the point guard of a team where all five players average double-digits and being the point guard of a team where we’ve had three or four guys in the pros or in the D League, just being the facilitator of that is something I’ll just always come away feeling good about. I haven’t averaged 15 or 20 points a game in my career or anything like that but that’s completely fine because I’ve played with six 1,000-point scorers since I’ve been here. Being the point guard to that is a huge honor to me.”

Also, apparently, per a CW tweet, Lil Jon went to SJU.

Take that, other schools' famous alumnae.

He's limited in terms of what he can do as a point guard. But yes, the guy is a virtual assistant coach. That's where his future in the game lies after his collegiate playing career ends. Not in playing.

Phil's postgame below. Had a lot of good comments. He basically said we're a man and a half too short to press full court for the entire game (which is definitely true), and that we don't have the right personnel to be VCU or Louisville, but he said he took a lot of Billy Donovan's playbook. We'll see about that.

Also had some strong words for the NIT Tip-Off. I think he'd rather be going to Gonzaga than a lot of other places, but he didn't want this, basically. Doesn't seem like he wanted to be playing on Thanksgiving. The crowd will be so small, he said, that "you're gonna know everybody in the place."

St. Joe's is all about money and not substance, it has a 92% acceptance rate.
Greed has brought SJU nothing but shame. Many current and past students are upset.

An article in Philadelphia Inquirer about 6 months, has SJU's endowment at 200 million, with loses at 10 million per year. Probably the reason for troubles.

Ever since 2004, SJU has been on a buy spree and money grabbing, and now it's reputation is paying the price with the awful acceptance rate. Many hiring managers are NOT giving SJU graduates the opportunities they once had.

The past President had one of the shortest tenures ever.

We want to get our acceptance rate back to about 50% as it was in the 1980's. We do not want to end up being like LaSalle accepting over 90% every year.

The failure in our Athletic Department is not helping. Change the AD ! Change the Cronies ! Change the name on the building ! Show Respect for our Alumni who gave their lives' for us ! Go back to "Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse"

SJU - Show that you CARE about those fallen Heros - FIRST ! Not MONEY !

Imagine what little Philip would have said after the Gonzaga game.

It was announced tonight that Pierfrancesco Oliva, a 6'8" F out of NJ's Bergen Catholic, signed with the Hawks.

I wasn't wrong; you're just assuming that the Hawks don't suck.

Now, you see, sjhawk13, this really doesn't mean a whole hell of a lot because I don't see his "talent" level referenced anywhere. How many stars? What does Rothstein or Goodman or Zagoria think?

(This kid is going to be good and most non-Hawk fans will probably hate his guts because he's slick, handsome, Italian, and shoots it well)

Schmidt offered if I'm not mistaken, right?

Yes he did. I don't know this, but I assume Schmidt didn't feel great about his chances, as he took two other forwards who fit the exact mold of the rest of our very long, very athletic players who can't shoot or handle the ball.
