Re: 2016-17 UMass Minutemen

I have the garlic wreath, a silver bullet blessed by a priest, and a shovel to dig two graves since we can't have the head buried with body. If anyone thinks putting together some modest little string together at the end of the season is grounds for 'giving Derek one more year' then we need to talk. Stick a fork in Kellogg. It's over. Kaput.

'E's not pinin'! 'E's passed on! This "Coach" is no more! He has ceased to be! 'E's expired and gone to meet 'is maker! 'E's a stiff! Bereft of life, 'e rests in peace! If you hadn't nailed 'im to the perch 'e'd be pushing up the daisies! 'Is metabolic processes are now 'istory! 'E's off the twig! 'E's kicked the bucket, 'e's shuffled off 'is mortal coil, run down the curtain and joined the bleedin' choir invisible!! THIS IS AN EX-HEAD COACH!!

The plumage isn't even beautiful, it's greasy.

The Norwegian Blue prefers kippin' on it's back. Beautiful plummage.

Maybe this guy should get another chance.
After all, he never had a losing conference record, and did get to the dance.

Bruiser should not have been fired when he was but as much as I like him I certainly don't want him back. Watching his offense was worse than watching DK's. They did play good defense, though.

Re: 2016-17 UMass Minutemen

It is my understanding that DK DID NOT start his lone senior, Zach Turcotte, on senior night..... Is that really true?

The account I got was that he tried to put the kid in very late in the game for like 1 minute and Zach turned down the offer. Making matter worse is that it sounded like that offer only seemed to come after an assistant coach went over to remind/tell DK about this "oversight".

I really hope this isn't true - if it is - SHAME on DK!

Re: 2016-17 UMass Minutemen

I was just looking at the boxscore on espn. Attendance was about 2400. I can't believe it. Even I was getting ramped up about this team back in November. Kellogg has totally killed this program. This is worse than the Lappas era. Can they afford to fire him? Wrong question. Can they afford to keep him?

Wow. That sent me over to Mike's board. On page 7 or 8 of the Richmond thread Matt Vatour said that Kellogg asked him to go in and he refused. I couldn't tell if they were talking about starting or if this was later in the game.

Probably doesn't matter. If Kellogg didn't start him then he's an even bigger idiot than anyone realized. Beyond that, you tell a kid to go in and he says no? What the hell is that about? The entire story is weird.

Please leave us now Kellogg.

If they're not laughing then they have no sense of humor. It's sad for UMass fans but should be hilarious for opponents' fans. UMass is truly comically bad.

As for Turcotte, he apparently wanted to play earlier (according to DK) but wasn't interested after DK only thought of putting him in after an assistant coach (who himself was prompted by a minute of fans' cheering)nbrought it to his attention. DK outdid himself last night. My only wish is that UMass could fire him twice.

Relax fellas. The way the Bonnies have been up and down, and unable to put together 40 minutes of strong play, they just might save DK's job this weekend.

I am paraphrasing a bit, but the quote of the year had to be during the Duquesne rout when the broadcasters were laughing out loud about the fact that the Dukes scrubs were actually going to have to wash their uniforms after a game for the first time this year.........

That ranks right up there with the Fordham 27-0 run and the Fordham snaps it 43 game conference losing streak to the minutemen fiasco.

They cannot fire DK enough!

I sense some unease in the UMass fan base.
