Crean fired @ IU. Usual suspects named to replace. Archie, Mack, Marshall, Alford.

Re: Coaching Carousel

IU is probably the first real opening that Dayton fans should be scared to death about. Real possibility now Archie bolts.

Of course tonight's game could be deemed the "Hoosier Lottery".

Brad Brownell now likely to be fired at Clemson, maybe as soon as today, apparently...

Hiring Mike Rice would be a disaster.

Dave Bliss got a second chance (granted in NAIA) and he created a sideshow environment wherein one of his players killed a teammate. Mike Rice will get another job. I do not know how.

You know, I'm all for holding people accountable, but I also don't think we need to make lifetime pariahs out of them either. We've all been granted second chances, maybe not to the same degree, but where would anyone of us be without a do-over here or there?

I would think that the first trip to Olean will include lots of pointing and "bad word" yelling?

I was startled out of a sound sleep by a dream I had.... A Umass alum was our head B-ball coach and he was really bad. It seemed like an endless reel of a bunch of players running around the floor with no game plan or structure of any kind. Umass really sucked - I woke up with this vision of the last place team in the A-10 beating the ever-lovin-shit out of us - it was very unsettling................ Wait - what - THIS REALLY HAPPENED?

I agree wholeheartedly, but Dave Bliss shouldn't be allowed to coach anywhere at any level. He is among the worst of the worst. I don't think he had a single head coaching job where he didn't leave the place covered in slime and sanctions.

Shit, the guy was breaking rules coaching at some small Texas high school.

Mike Rice can be argued as deserving a second chance, but I don't argue that because he's been a crappy coach, nevermind an asshole.

Ignoring his character flaws, what about his coaching flaws? Nothing I have seen from Rice makes me think he will be successful coaching at any school in the A10. This isn't a Travis Ford hire where he was making the tournament every year and getting great recruits, just not making it far enough. Rice is a straight up bad coach who went 1-2 against A10 teams when he was coaching Rutgers to the bottom of the Big East.
