Re: Transfers

Andoh is done anyhow. He only had one year of eligibility. With Mobley, I highly doubt he will graduate already. The transfer of credits from CCSU wouldn't have accounted for many of the core curriculum courses at SBU.

I did not realize that CCSU was that bad a school.

Fordham has two to three players that are likely to graduate early. Juniors Christian Sengfelder and Nemanja Zarkovic and RS-junior Antwoine Anderson. I have a feeling one of more will move on.

Re: Transfers

It isn't that CCSU is that bad, it's just that Bona has a unique "Clare College" that is a requirement for students. While Mobley could skip over courses like composition and maybe a basic science class, I'd imagine he'd be behind a typical student, credit-wise, by 6-9 credits.

You would think that with 2 summer sessions per academic year that someone in Mobley's situation could catch back up.

Of Fordham's 3 that are set to graduate early, 2 of them are juniors who did it by taking regular course loads during the two normal semesters and max course loads during the summers when possible. There are several on the women's team that have done the same and will be leaving Fordham with a bachelor's degree and a partial master's degree.

Re: Transfers

While it is only speculation at this point - I think Umass could lose anywhere from 1 to 5 players depending on how the coaching situation plays out.

Everyone has been tight lipped - I suspect that if DK stays they lose 2 or 3 at least and if he is gone, it will be highly dependent on how quickly they hire a replacement and how effective he can be convincing this team to stay in tact.

They have some great pieces, they just need someone who can coach his way out of a wet paper bag.

I was startled out of a sound sleep by a dream I had.... A Umass alum was our head B-ball coach and he was really bad. It seemed like an endless reel of a bunch of players running around the floor with no game plan or structure of any kind. Umass really sucked - I woke up with this vision of the last place team in the A-10 beating the ever-lovin-shit out of us - it was very unsettling................ Wait - what - THIS REALLY HAPPENED?

Re: Transfers

Yup and Jarreau is not a very good point guard. He can create his own shot, but not the best passer. Guess could look up is assists and turnovers but my impression stands. In the A10 a great point guard is the ticket.

Re: Transfers

I am not sure if anyone will transfer out of Richmond, though there are some players who would not surprise me at all if they transferred. As a fan I am hoping for a transfer out and a solid grad-transfer big man to come in. I think Richmond will be solid 1-3 next year, but there are huge questions at the 4 and 5. We will have no front court players who have played more than ~60 minutes of college basketball next year.

Blount seems the most likely. Clover is possible. I think Jai as a grad transfer somewhere is also a possibility.

Re: Transfers

There are rumbling's of UD continuing to recruit despite not having open scholarship's. I'm guessing that UD will Have at least one player transfer out.

1 would be nice. 2 would be awesome. I still think Clover would be a nice contributor off the bench though. 10-15 minutes a game. We have had much worse bench players getting time.

Given the lack of guards, I understand, but I'm highly skeptical of his ability to play at the A10 level even in a bench role.

If in fact they're actively recruiting for next season it certainly could be that there is a transfer out in the works. Also, someone could be an academic casualty, Kostas may decide to go back across the pond, there may be issues with the Czech recruit's transcript and whether or not he would qualify, maybe one of the other recruits has a grade issue or is having second thoughts. Again, are they actively recruiting for next season?

I don't believe that they are still recruiting for the reasons that you have cited. I believe that they are recruiting for next year. The speculation is that there will be a transfer out making room for an open scholarship. College basketball is a business now. Who knows what will actually materialize though.
