Re: Transfers

VCU probably needs to sign a couple more 6'6" guys just to make sure they have cornered the market on them.

Re: Transfers

I'm sure VCU would be more nervous if their 3 transfers were just random guys from Maine, Rice & Longwood.

But then again Cline wasn't a random guy from Niagara...

Re: Transfers

At the basketball banquet tonight Coach Rhoades kept talking about playing fast and playing full court. I think he is going to play a guard heavy lineup and the 6'6 wings that eightlegger mentioned. I would not be surprised if he filled the last two spots with the UVA grad transfer Darius Thompson and Aaron Thompson the 2017 incoming freshman would opted out of Pitt. Seems like Coach Rhoades really wants to play a uptempo style this year.

Earlier this year, One of the guys writing for Blackburn Review tweeted a comment about Archie's ties and Archie's wife scorched him with a tweet of her own. Archie didn't look comfortable in a suit or tie, so I'm positive he wasn't wearing a tie when he met with the team. In any case, his dress shirts usually fit.

I agree. That may be why he switched jobs, and we'll see a return to this fashion statement shortly.

I can see it ... maybe not the 3XL that Bobby sported. Crean went open collar so Arch may get by with shorts and an IU tee shirt.

Re: Transfers

OK, I don't know who won the cookoff last night.

I do know VCU's got so much extra cash they outfitted Rhoades in a special chef's costume. (another explanation is that he didn't change after the challenge, before the press conference, because he was ashamed of his tee shirt next to Mooney's sport coat)

Whatever, they spent their time talking about transfers and the rules:

We've had better discussions and ideas regarding transfers on this board than those sound bytes. Of course, they are in a situation where they have to carefully choose what they say.

I was hoping someone would ask Rhoades why he stole Duquesne's recruit.

Ha! I mean who wouldn't want a Jim Ferry recruit? Sheesh.

Saying Rhoades stole a recruit is a bit harsh. Duquesne gave Djonkam his release and did not put any restrictions on his movement.

You're right, AlienAiden. I understand that Dambrot and staff didn't pursue any of Ferry's recruits. Although in Ferry's defense (even though Ferry coached no defense), he did have a good eye for talent (which he didn't know what to do with).

In addition to Djonkam, Wheeler signed with Penn St. and Walker allegedly has offers from Arizona St., Southern Miss and E. Tenn. St. Plus, Mike transferred to SMU.

Re: Transfers

Mason won a little recruiting battle against GW. Will be interesting to see if this kid has an impact, but on paper it's a great get: http://gmuhoops.co/2017/05/01/virgin....TzQgNJOf.dpbs

I think the year off will really elevate his game.

Re: Transfers

Given he is from upstate NY, I'm surprised Fordham, UMASS and URI didn't make a run at him. Seems like a plus pickup for GMU.
