Transfers

Before the A-10 Tourney starts discussion. Verbal Commits lists 88 players who have already made known their intent to transfer. For from Portland and three from Bradley were the most recent. IIRC, last year the total number of transfers was around 800. Do we get close to 900 this year? Without mentioning a player's name, are you expecting anyone from your team to leave?

I'm leaning yes to one, possibly more than one.

Re: Transfers

I'd bet on one or two leaving. The writing seems to be on the wall with Coburn and Kaputo. Obokoh is a tough call, too, but I expect him back.

La Salle will sign all of them.

Re: Transfers

No news on any transfers, but with an interim coach under the microscope, anything is possible.

Sina will graduate and has a history of transfers. Yuta could probably go to a blue-blood too as a graduate transfer (not sure if he'll graduate in time).

I doubt we can keep the three freshman bigs. Marfo was the presumed stud, but hasn't played in a few weeks. End of the bench (Goss, Mitola, Williams) are all transfer candidates.

La Salle already has a transfer commit for next year (Traci Carter from Marquette). As a result someone from the current roster or one of the three incoming frosh have to go since there will not be enough scholarships to go around. There will be 4 5th year seniors on the team, at least one of whom is likely to leave as a graduate transfer.

Re: Transfers

How many times does this grad transfer rule have to be exploited before something is done about it? Disgusting.

Also...

It may be more than one, as La Salle just offered 2017 PG Jaheam Cornwall out of Putnam Science (CT) via Brooklyn, NY, USA. The Bonnies have also offered Cornwall.

Once Mobley, Andoh and Obokoh graduate the rule will change.

Well, Mobley and Andoh were not grad transfers. Both sat out last season. As for Obokoh, his presence at SBU doesn't change my view of this preposterous rule. As with most modern changes to NCAA rules, the grad transfer rule usually hurts the non-P5 types.

UD may have been recruiting the kid at one point as well, I can't recall the name, but I know they were looking at someone from Scoochie's old school (Putnam Science). Don't think they are involved in any form at this point as their class is full and they got their PG out of Minnesota.

They are not grad transfers...yet.

I think that was the point AA was making.
