Good, lets get Jay-Z and Beyonce out to a handful of games. I mean what recruits mother wouldn't want to look at AG on the sidelines;what recruit wouldn't want to look at Beyonce sitting behind the bench for a few games cheering on her nephew?

Re: 2017-2018 Dayton Flyers

I think the general feeling is that Dayton had a good recruiting class lined-up. Followers grow attached to the players who have committed, but in the A-10 you're not getting the one and done types. These guys have build-up physically and get used to playing against five guys who were the main man in high school. There are grad transfers out there who have shown they can play at this level. There are and will likely be more guys asking out of their loi due to coaching changes. I think AG is going to leave a very positive impression with the mom of any recruit he visits, and we all know that can't hurt.

Re: 2017-2018 Dayton Flyers

Dayton just finished up the press conference with Grant. Exciting times.

Early word though on twitter from about as good of source as you can get is that Ostrom is off to IU with Archie, even though Ostrom was at the press conference. So we will see what happens with a recruit or two.....

Re: 2017-2018 Dayton Flyers

Dave Jablonski tweeted the info about Ostrom but also said that of the current players he spoke with they all said all the current players are committed to staying.

That's great news. No matter what, a front line of X, Cunningham and Kostas gives us a fighting chance.

Ostrom and AG know each other, so I suspect that Tom was being respectful to AG. It's important that AG picks his own staff but I would like to see Ostrom stay at UD.

AG had a great press conference. First impressions will not be an issue with Anthony.

I am feeling more confident about next season if AG can keep a few of the recruits. There are a lot of grad transfers this year that may be interested in a one and done situation at Dayton.

Re: 2017-2018 Dayton Flyers

My wife watched the press conference with me and knew nothing about AG. Her comments were "he is a lot more polished than Archie" and "if you and Anthony went to UD at the same time why aren't you as trim as him". She's never getting anymore of my scotch.

Assistant Coach Allen Griffin is off to his alma mater...Syracuse.

Looks like Grant will be picking his own staff of "new" Dayton AC.

I can use that in the reverse: Lamar Odom and Cuttino Mobley went to URI at the same time I did. One became a crackhead (fingers crossed he has kicked it) and one looks like he's 60 years old now with the white grandpa beard, respectively.

Re: 2017-2018 Dayton Flyers

My understanding is that coach Grant while trying to put together a staff is also trying to meet with recruits who signed a loi. I would think he tries to get them to remain committed to the program, but if they say something to the effect, they want to consider their options, I don't think Grant (or any coach) can unilaterally cut the recruit loose unless the recruit asks to be released from his loi. Any program that has allocated all of its scholarships is behind the eight-ball in going after transfers, jucos and decommits to other programs.

Re: 2017-2018 Dayton Flyers

Wright has "decommited" from Dayton (or asked for his release).

Jordan Davis has recommited (???) or solidified his NLI to stay at Dayton.

Two left go, I'm pretty sure they both stay.

Steve I don't have a chance in my house. I have a wife (who drinks my scotch), a 17 year old daughter, two female labs and a male pug. Plus my mother lives less than a mile away and spends more time in my home than me. Did I mention that the pug doesn't have any balls?
