Hoosiers, Hoop Dreams and White Men Can't Jump are by far the best basketball movies ever made... no offense, but if you think Hoop Dreams was boring you're missing something.

William Gates delivers such a heartbreakingly beautiful line towards the end of that documentary... "That's why when somebody say, "when you get to the NBA, don't forget about me", and that stuff. Well, I should've said to them, "if I don't make it, don't you forget about me."'

Hoops Dreams takes the cake for me and it isn't even close.

The Gates quote, the scene where Arthur is at the park and his dad walks out of the ally-way all glossy eyed, the thrill of Agee leading his team down state...so many real moments.

It's impossible to watch Hoop Dreams and not care about the two boys afterwards. If you watch it, I guarantee you put their names into Google and try to find out how their lives turned out.

Exactly what I did. Actually, my sophomore year of College, I did a paper on the film, Aruthr & William.

This thread inspired me to watch Pulp Fiction again. The first 20 minutes is Tarantino at his pinnacle.

Been invited to an assessment centre next Monday, it's nearly 3 hours away but could be the lead I need in my job hunt.

Schedule change has me starting an hour earlier tomorrow. Blah. Good news is I get an extended break before my (now) one class in the afternoon. The less enjoyable change is being off Friday with those classes being moved to Sunday.
