After a pretty down day yesterday, I needed those two phone calls, the jobs might not be perfect but they should be enough to get me back on my feet and hopefully offer some kind of progression.

Keep ya head up brother. I'm saying this for you as well as me, cuz we're in the same boat. I got an interview at an assessment center on Friday, so I scouted it the other day. Shit was more corporate than any place I've been in, red couches in the lobby and all. Peeked into the interview room, was a bunch of 30-40 yr olds doing a group interview with like 10 ppl.

I tell myself: be smart, smile and crack wise. I'm not beating these guys in experience.

Had another call this morning, for a job I actually want and nailed it. Got myself through to the interview stage, which is later today, over Skype (these new age companies).

It was 10 minutes ago and he said he would e-mail me some details, he has yet to do so. I'm freaking out. Ha.

Be assertive, they'll likely expect you to fade out, so if you do a group exercise, be the guy that grabs the pen and gets the ideas down or if that doesn't work out, just make sure you speak up.

I'm sure you'll do great, you got that natural swag, so you'll find your way.

Oh hell yeah. I'm glad for ya since I just bombed a phone interview, being rusty and all. Good thing I get a face meeting with the same ppl soon.

Turned out to be more of a 'talk' rather than a interview. Still, it went very well, although he did say he wish I never told him that I got the sack, which has confused me somewhat.

Oh and right before I had the interview, my appeal letter came back, and guess what, I'm still fired. Ha.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, I am interviewing a very promising candidate for my new department in a few hours. He's willing to relocate to the New Orleans area immediately. He got divorced and he just wants to get as far away from his ex as he can as quickly as possible.

He's also qualified for the job, btw.
