I would just be honest about it... and explain how you've learned from your mistakes. Your mistake wasn't even really work related... own it and impress upon them how much you've grown and how that isolated incident is not indicative of your character or work product. Having interviewed and hired hundreds of different people for various jobs it is not hard to tell when someone is bullshitting you... and besides, they'll likely find out eventually.

If you never want to get hired again, do that.

You don't have to disclose that you got fired. If your former company says anything that prevents you from getting a job, then they are open to liabilities. You have to disclose A criminal record, but not a firing. You just don't have a letter of recommendation from them.

If you never want to be hired, tell your prospective employers that you punch coworkers in the face in your spare time and you're behavior is not only unprofessional but opens them up to liabilities.

I would rather be caught in a low than tell the truth in this situation. At least in a lite you have a hope in hell of getting hired.

So you think you can go to a job interview... have them ask you "why did you leave your former employer" and you can be dishonest about it or say "it ended" and they won't think you're either lying or dumb? If they ask the question and he doesn't answer that pretty much ends the interview right there... hell, they'll likely think it was something worse than it was. He has to answer the question if it comes up, there's just no way around it. I'm assuming PP is looking for a career and not trying to get hired at a McDonalds... serious employers will follow up with your previous employer if they are serious about hiring you and sense that you aren't being forthright with them.

And we've been through this before, there is nothing legally impermissible about telling a future employer that someone was fired. You can't make shit up, but they are sure well within their rights to share that he was terminated and why. Especially since the decision has been appealed through a formal process and his termination was upheld... there is pretty much zero liability there for his former employer.

No, you say what you would if you had quit. You don't say,"my boss was a total douchebag and made me hate everything about the job." You lie and say, "the job wasn't offering me the opportunities I was seeking." Or some variation of it not being an ideal fit. This is the same deal. Pretend it's no big deal why you left and they probably won't follow up at all except to verify employment.
