No work or school today. First time in a long time I can say that.

Too bad I have to spent quite a bit of it studying for a midterm, but it's all good.

If they ask if you were fired, you say no. If they ask why you left your last job, you say something that resembles you quitting on your own terms. Go get your new job.

If it's a higher paying job, you're "pursuing new challenges".

I don't think it's a good idea to lie in a job interview. Some companies don't give references or the reason you left. Some do. If they call your references and the story doesn't add up, you're screwed on the spot. One smart quip is all that does it.

Of course, I'm paranoid and I like to cover all my bases.

I may be getting an internship (likely unpaid) working for the local newspaper here. I hate all things local sports but you have to start somewhere, right? We'll see what happens.
