I feel like shit. Haven't slept properly at night for a week or so now, not sure why. I'll go to bed and lie there for 2, 3 hours without falling asleep. 4.30am last night before I dropped off, and then up at 9am. Blah.

Indeed it was but my family just doesn't seem to be into the holiday spirit anymore. It's almost like we're forced into these family gatherings instead of everyone wanting to be there.

I think that has a little to do with it, but not the main reason why. All of our cousins used to be really close, but little by little, everyone started getting married and now everyone just seems more distant. I'm one of three cousins remaining that hasn't been married and I'm sure once that happens, it'll change a little bit as well. But I've always been in the holiday spirit (or tried to) but nobody else cares so I've pretty much stopped caring to try. I just go, show up and get the night over with it. Yesterday, I was at my aunt's house for three hours. It used to be 7-8 hours that we would all be together.

Talking to all my friends, they were all with their families for most of the day. For us, it was three hours and everyone was gone. That's just sad.
