Starting to get a bit more into planning mode on those Beijing/Shanghai trips. Beijing is a definite go at this point, likely to be the last week of January for three or four days with either one or two other teachers I know coming along. Shanghai is a near certainty with two to three other teachers being along for that one, but that's not till mid/late February so plans are a lot more abstract at this point.
Should be fun.

Okay, I suppose. Didn't really feel like Christmas here (even though there was a Santa at the bar when I was out...a white one, too), but I enjoyed hanging out with some of the other teachers all the same. I got the Christmas vibe by staying up and Skyp(e)ing my parents/family for Christmas morning and hanging out while everybody was in presents mode. Didn't really mind not having any gifts, really, was good to kind of be there.
The cheap trains and hostels definitely help when it comes to my travel plans, wouldn't be able to pull it off otherwise. I need some new turf to explore a bit to break up the monotony of seeing mostly the same places all the time. I'll do some more exploring of my current city during the break as well, not like I have much else to do.
