Re: Bball's Hip Hop Discussion
Yep. I listened to 2001 on the way to my Aunt's house yesterday, and am currently listening to it now. 2001 may have been the best album ever in terms of production. I love every beat on that album.
As promised I got through some of Gang Starrs stuff last week. Great request, and I was wrong about them. I have always been a big Preemo fan but I never thought much of the little I had heard of Guru but Guru can rhyme. I enjoyed all of their albums, with my favorite probably being Daily Operation or No More Mr. Nice Guy. I have Cormega's stuff so i'll get to him sometime soon and report back. BTW if anyone has suggestions i'm all ears. This next few weeks should be good for hip-hop releases. Wale, The Alchemist, Tanya Morgan, and I believe Elzhi is dropping his Elmatic mixtape sometime soon. |

I'm looking forward to that Elmatic tape in a big way.

Re: Bball's Hip Hop Discussion
I'm really feeling the new K'Naan album. It starts off a little slow, but it halfway through is when it gets REALLY good. I like this. AOTY right now.

Re: Bball's Hip Hop Discussion
Yeah Cudi has grown on me lately as well. I originally didn't like him after hearing him on that XXL tape with the 10 freshman. I mean if I was going to rank them now Blu and Wale are above the rest, but Cudi is probably in that 2nd tier with Mickey Factz and Curren$y.

Re: Bball's Hip Hop Discussion
Dayds Chasing Days by Blame One is dope. He sounds similar to Blu and the album has production from Exile on most of the tracks. One of the better albums I have heard so far.

Re: Bball's Hip Hop Discussion
Man Relapse is a lot better than I expected. Not Em's best work but this is fairly good. Underground, Beautiful, and Hello are my favorite tracks. Dre absolutely killed the production, the man hasn't missed a beat (no pun intended). The beats have me beyond stoked for Detox only to drop down to reality and realize that it may not drop anytime soon.

Re: Bball's Hip Hop Discussion
I found an old iTunes giftcard and had some extra cash, so I've been loving the new pruchases I've made the past two days.
XV-Complex Illa J-Yancey Boys Foreign Exchange-Connected Redman-Muddy Waters Lauryn Hill-The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill And with Blackout 2 on the way...I think I have plenty of music to hold me over for the summer.

Re: Bball's Hip Hop Discussion
Yeah, he isn't anything amazing, but he's still a solid MC. He is a perfect fit for Dilla's production.
