Re: Bball's Hip Hop Discussion
I can hit you with it.
Von Pea's last blog post was urging fans who liked it to send it to other people who might like it to spread word out.

Re: Bball's Hip Hop Discussion
Already got it. I'm at So Damn Down. If I like it I plan on buying it off of iTunes within a week or two.

Re: Bball's Hip Hop Discussion
I was thinking about underappreciated albums I have never seen mentioned on this site, or that I have read.
Enta Da Stage by Black Moon. It's safe to say I was pretty blown away once I listened to this. Buckshot rips this album, and the production is very good. Probably one of the better first listens to an album I have ever had. The second is an album that is very underground, like earth's core underground. It's called "Lonely City" by Montreal based hip-hop group Specifics. This is one of the most laid-back, chilled albums I have ever heard. The production is pretty good, and it's solid lyrically. "Under The Hood" is one of the most chill songs ever. |

Re: Bball's Hip Hop Discussion
Okay, so I heard 'So Far Gone' for the first time yesterday. I'm playing 'Best I Ever Had' on a loop. This would make a great strip joint song. Ignant **** is dope too.

Re: Bball's Hip Hop Discussion
Anyway, I'm taking a huge L (self given.) There's a rapper from RI named Swann Notty that I've been listening too for a few months now, and just found an album/tape he did in 07 that he did with 9th Wonder. All but a few tracks are 9th beats, so damn...I'm taking the L and a late pass on this one. Local RI rapper working with one of my favorite producers...should be epic.

Re: Bball's Hip Hop Discussion
Brooklynati definitely gets better with every listen. I didn't like it too much at first but that's a good thing. Sometimes I love an album at first listen and then just get sick of it after a few more. I'm getting the opposite vibe from Brooklynati.

Re: Bball's Hip Hop Discussion
I had $30 on my iTunes account, so I ended up buying Brooklynati. Without a doubt a contender for AOTY as of right now. Downloading is cool and all, but certain stuff you have to support, and anything with Von Pea is a must for me.

Re: Bball's Hip Hop Discussion
I don't know what the hell you guys are talking about anymore, lol..
The only MC I've heard of on this page is MF Doom, I think, and I really liked his last album.. that's all I'll say. |
