Re: Bball's top 50 hip-hop albums of all-time
Good stuff, bball. Maybe you can give me some hip-hop recommendations. These are the rappers that are currently in my iTunes library: Eminem, Ghostface Killah, GZA/Genius, Jay-Z, NaS, The Notorious B.I.G., Outkast, Raekwon, The Roots, Snoop Dogg, A Tribe Called Quest, Wu-Tang Clan, 2Pac.

Re: Bball's top 50 hip-hop albums of all-time
I'm starting to think Blueprint is better than Reasonable Doubt...but I like that list.
What's notably missing is 93 Til Infinity...one of the best albums ever lyrically...have you checked that out? |

Re: Bball's top 50 hip-hop albums of all-time
I have been favoring Blueprint to Reasonable Doubt for a while. To be honest I favor whichever one I listen to but both are great, great albums and Hov is probably my most listened to artist as of late.
No I havent checked out '93 til infinity but i'll check that out ASAP and i'll report back. |

My teacher actually got me into PE. He was in college back when It takes a nation was released and our class got to listen to some of it when we were working on assignments and things. Then I downloaded yo bum rush the show, It takes a nation, and fear of a black planet and I gotta admit all 3 were great listens. I probaby haven't listened to any PE in a few weeks but i'll have to get back into it sometime soon. As for Criminal Minded I went through a bunch of online lists looking for the best rappers, hip hop acts ever about a year or two ago when I really got into this and KRS One was a constant on almost every list. So I got the BDP stuff and return of the boom bap and became a fan of his music, although it took a while to get into it. "The Bridge Is Over" is one of my favorite tracks of all time of criminal minded. |

I forgot Doe or Die, a couple of them are more homer picks for Michigan Hip-Hop but they are worthy of being mentioned. I'll probably revise this list at a later date.

Re: Bball's top 50 hip-hop albums of all-time
93 'til Infinity may crack the top 10 whenever I get around to getting 50 in order. I have been playing that for the past few days non-stop. Thanks for bringing that to my attention Dre.

Re: Bball's top 50 hip-hop albums of all-time
I'm not a huge fan of the second half of the blackstar album. Probably won't crack the top ten.
I think Masters of the Universe may be as good as any hip-hop album I have heard. If you haven't heard it do yourself a favor and check it out. |

Re: Bball's top 50 hip-hop albums of all-time
Great list. My quick thoughts...
1) Raising Hell and Stillmatic would be higher (for my list) 2) No Chitlin Circuit 1.5? I LOVE Little Brother, that's their best work IMO. 3) No ATLiens!?!?

Re: Bball's top 50 hip-hop albums of all-time
I haven't checked out Chitlin Circuit 1.5 but I will get on that ASAP. I prefer Aquemini to ATLiens which is why I put it up there.
