Last year I had 4 teams 1 position off from where I predicted and 2 two positions off. This contest is great but can I make a suggestion on scoring?

5 points- correct spot
2 points- 1 position off
1 point- 2 positions off
-1 point- a team you picked to make the playoffs misses it

If you're two or more positions off I don't think you should get any points. I also don't like the idea of docking a point on top of it for predicting a team to make the playoffs, and having them miss it. The zero points should be punishment enough.

Nice suggestions, but I don't think you realize how much work this is just in the simple scoring we have implemented. To score everyone like you suggested (or others suggested), I might be here to 2019 getting it done.

Besides, the way we set it up makes sure the winner has put some thought into it. If more teams line up in the right position, that is where the prize winners are separated from also-rans.

I guess I'm just bitter that I had the Spurs finishing second to the Thunder and got the same amount of points for those two teams as people that had the Spurs as done and finishing no higher than 6th (including seifer).

We have a big staff, no one will volunteer to help you score? I'm sure individual posters will check their own posts.

I hear ya, I disagree with notion that getting points only for having it exactly right takes more skill. For example, I have Houston and New Orleans making the playoffs (6th and 8th respectively). Last I checked, no other poster has either of them in the playoffs. You're telling me if New Orleans finishes 7th and Houston 8th I deserve no points, same as everyone else?
