What you all have been waiting for, no doubt!

We had such a successful contest last year, we decided to do it again this year and up the money!

This season, first prize is $500, second prize is $250, and third prize is $100!

It works like this: You predict the standings where the teams will finish up at the end of the season. You get one point for each team in the right slot, and zero points for a wrong prediction.

Simple, right? See the example standings below:

Eastern Division

1. Miami
2. Chicago
3. New Jersey
4. New York
5. Milwuakee
6. Boston
7. Indiana
8. Atlanta

Western Division

1. Oklahoma
2. Dallas
3. Los Angeles Clippers
4. San Antonio
5. Los Angeles Lakers
6. Memphis
7. Denver
8. Portland

Let's say this is how the teams ended up at the end of the season. So, if you picked Oklahoma to end up 1st in the West, then you would get 1 point for that selection. However, if you picked Oklahoma to end up 2nd in the West, you would zero points for that selection.

Maximum possible is 16 (should be obvious).

Now, that still isn't the end of the contest. Once all the playoffs are seeded, you have to come back and make your playoff predicitons by round. (Last season, we had some posters who scored high during the regular season but didn't make their playoff predictions...they missed out on possibly some big money!) Once again, you get 1 point for a right choice and zero points for the wrong choice. The poster who gets the highest for both the regular season predictions and the playoff predictions wins first prize!

It is also important to get your picks sooner rather than later. Any tie-breakers will be decided by the time-stamp of the post. Very important...we did have to do tie-breakers last season.

One more thing...no repeats in the standings. Automatic DQ.

This thread closes about 5 minutes before first tip-off on Tuesday, October 30. So get your predictions in as early as possible!

All decisions are final as to prize money handed out. If you have any questions, please contact me via PM.
