Roy WIlliams is the 4th fastest coach to make it to 400 wins. Very impressive. 400 wins in 14 and half years. He has yet to hit 100 lost games. Actually the team won 400 games in that time. Lets give credit where it is due. Yes, most of it will rely on Williams, but like what Coach said in the post game news conference vs Wyoming which they won. I am paraphsing. He said lets credit due with assistant coachs and the players. All the parties had credit to win 400 games. I feel he is one of the better coaches of NCAA's/

400 wins is great, but let's make sure no one confuses 4th fastest with 4th best. He walked into a great program and didn't really have to do much other than keep it going. He's a great regular season coach.

I never said anythign about 4th best. where in the hell that came from? I said he is one of the 4 fastest coaches to make 400 wins. Yes he came to a great program. What do you mean not have to do much to keep it going? In 1989, KU had recruting sanactions, and probhibtion b/c Coach Brown screwed up. I am not going into a silly arguement with you about your last line, so I am not going to touch that.

And I never said that you did say anything about 4th best. Like I said, I was just making sure other people didn't come to that conclusion.

KU's sanctions were fairly minor. To my knowledge they didn't lose any scholarships or anything. KU was already a well established program when Williams came in, something he had nothing to do with before his arrival, and what he's done is continue the winning, although he has yet to win it all. He probably will eventually, and he's still a great recruiter, but I wonder how effective he'd be at a university that didn't draw big time recruits just because of it's name(not saying he isn't a great recruiter, but they'd get some good ones without him, too). If he didn't have the tradition and talent to fall back on I wonder how well he'd do. Has he ever had a team that wasn't talented?

KU went on probation for violations by Brown. KU lost a couple of scholarships and a lot of players got out of their letter of intents. Before KU lost those scholarships, they had a top 5 class for that year. The only top 100 player to attend KU that year would be Adonis Jordan. Roy took a KU team in 1992 to the final four with a team that overachieved. Roy then lost in the Final Four the next year to UNC and didn't get back until last year. Like I heard them say on ESPN, Roy is a National Championship away from being another Lute Olsen. Roy will get that National Championship soon!
