Oklahoma

Wow, this team just keeps getting more and more stacked.....they got commitments from Andrew Lavendar(12 overall, 2nd PG) and Brandon Foust(33rd overall, ~9th SF)....

Anyone know anything about these guys, specifically Foust?

I know that Lavender is 5'6", and at that size he'll have some trouble contributing on the Big XII level.

He's 5'7, and I doubt he'd be recruited by big-time schools and/or be ranked the 2nd best PG in the nation if they did not think he could contribute.

ya Carruth got kicked out of the UK program just like Jason Parker (i believe he is going to South Carolina now) and Marvin Stone (who is at Louisville now). Many people have critisized OU for basically picking up another teams trash, but i however feel that these talented players (all those guys were Mcdonalds all-americans) deserve another chance. So good for OU in giving great players another chance, and i think that under Kelvin Sampson, Carruth could blow up and become a stud in a few years. I think that losing 3 all-americans like that is awful for Kentucky, who wont be able to match all the talent in the SEC. The only guy on Kentucky who i can think of who is capable of getting all-sec honors is Keith Bogans, who IF he steps up and plays consistent will get that honor. Other then him its just G Fitch, Camara (who is injured 4-6 weeks), Chuck Hayes, and Marquis Estill. All of those guys dont come close to other SEC starters such as David Lee, Matt Bonner, Mario Austin, Ronald Dupree, Derrick Zimmerman, Justin Reed, Jarvis Hayes, Damien Wilkins, Erwin Dudley, Mo Williams, and all the other talented SEC guys.

OK Also Signed...

6-5 SG/SF Standout DeAngelo Alexander from Midweat City and 6-8 PF Kevin Bookout(Had An Article On Him In a SLAM! Article Awhile Back) from Stroud.

ESPN's Take...
Averaged 30.6 points, 16.2 rebounds, 4.0 blocked shots, 2.1 steals per game in leading Stroud to a 28-3 record. Bookout also made 380-of-451 field goal attempts for a remarkable .843 season field goal percentage. His scoring average led Class 3A and his rebounding average led all Oklahoma classes. Bookout finished his career with 2,802 points, the ninth most in Oklahoma boys high school history. A consensus top-50 national basketball prospect, Bookout earned second-team Parade All-America honors and was named the state's "Mr. Basketball" by The Oklahoman. The Tulsa World named him co-player of the year along with Victory Christian's Kelenna Azubuike.

I'm not a big fan of Oklahoma, it's sports, their players, etc. (maybe because I grew up in the greatest state in the nation: TEXAS! ) but I really, really like their coach.

Coach Sampson knows what he's doing and his players understand what he preaches to them. That's why guys like Carruth will flourish in this system. Sampson knows how to work with players from all backgrounds. He's a great instructor who gets things done...his way.
