Big East 07-08
I'm under the impression that only Roy Hibbert and Jeff Green are bouncing. Too bad G'town is still going to be sick.
1. Georgetown
DaJaun Summers is going to explode next year. He can go outside and inside. He's Jeff Green but with a mean streak. He will share the scoring load with Austin Freeman, a top 5 guard in this year's High School class. JTIII will also have Jesse Sapp, Jon Wallace, Jeremiah Rivers and Chris Wright (Micky D's AA 3 pt winner) to play either the 1 or 2. This gives Thompson the chance to play a more guard oriented Princeton offense. Those 4 guys plus Freeman make up the deepest back court in the Big East. The Hoyas also have Ewing Jr, Macklin and Spann to bang down low. With one of the best coaches in the country and a top back court the Hoyas will get 15-17 wins in Big East play.
2. Marquette
I like this team a lot more than most people. And I like Dominic James more than most people. He had a major, major slump but he's a very talented player and he's going to be great next year. I also think Ousmanne Barro is better than people think and is servicable inside. If they get tougher next year they'll be contenders.
3. Louisville
I don't believe all the hype but they have the potential to be very good. If Sosa plays 70% as well as he did against A&M (he was inconsistent all year) and Caracter stays out of trouble they do have sick inside-out combo. Two big ifs though. However with Pitino at the helm, this team could be top 10. I'll put them here though to start.
4. Notre Dame
They're getting McAlarney back from his smoking hiatus and Harongody is a personal favorite. I think this team is going to be good. 2 good big men inside and a good pg. Hopefully Brey doesn't scew it up.
5. Villanova
Scottie Reynolds is going to lead the league in scoring and be a unanimous 1st team Big Easter. They also have Cunningham, Clark, Redding and a new Mickey D's All-American in sg Corey Stokes. They also have one of my favorite coaches in Jay Wright. I like how he truly improves most of his players.
6. Syracuse
7. DePaul
8. UConn
9. Pitt
10. WVU
11. St. Johns
12. Providence
13. Seton Hall
14. South Florida
15. Rutgers
16. Cincinati
1st Team
Dominic James
Scottie Reynolds
Dajuan Summers
Luke Harongody
Geoff McDermott
POY
Dominic James
Co-NOY's
Austin Freeman
Donte Green
COY
John Thompson III

UC won't be the worst team in the Conference next season. Mike Williams will be very good for them

I'm just praying RU doesn't do as bad as they did last year. Chandler and Coburn make a nice backcourt for the future though.

Ha this conference is going to be so competitive next year I wasn't sure who to put at the bottom. Maybe USF. Who knows? It's going to be a great season for the Big East.

Re: Big East 07-08
I love Chris Wright. Fine if you don't agree with me on this, but he reminds me a little of Jason Williams. Williams was an inch taller and about 5-10lbs heavier, but from what I've heard and the little I've seen, Wright can shoot from outside, he can drive and score, he pass... I'm glad he didn't end up in the ACC. That's for sure.
GT, didn't I see somewhere that James is considering going pro?

Ahh I think he'll come to the conclusion that he needs one more year.

Re: Big East 07-08
The best part is he droped out of school and is picking an agent. Nothing like testing the waters the one time your alllowed.
I understand every reason why a kid wants to try to make the NBA but they give you one chance to try it without getting burned.

Re: Big East 07-08
WVU is going to be interesting to watch next season to see how they progress through the season. Beilein isn't a big believer in weight training (which really won't help him in the rugby on hardwood, Big 10 conference) and he played a 1-3-1 defense. Now the players are going to be hitting the weights hard all spring and summer along with learning t | |
