Eddie Griffin, remember him?

Griffin played for Seton Hall back in 00-01. I never got to see any games of him play in college. When Griffin came into the league he was suppose to be the great player with unlimted potential. And so far he has not leaved up to his potentail. Anyway I was wondering if any fellow Big East follower seen him play much in college. He show flashes a being a good NBA player, but I would like to see what people thought about him while he played at Seton Hall. Do you think he has what it it takes to be a star in this league?

He was a punk who worried about getting his stats and very little else. He fought with his teammates. Unlike a Carmelo Anthony, he never bought into the team concept, and was not respected by his teammates.

That being said, he was a spectacular player, and the Rockets at the time, were beleived to have a steal for trading for him for the #10, #18 and #21 (Those might not be the exact picks). I thought it was a steal too, thinking that Griffin should have been higher then a 7.

Looking back the Nets picks of Jefferson, Collins and Armstrong are much better then Griffin, who seems to content with hanging outside.

from an individual standpoint, eddie griffin was a force in college

however he was not a team player and popped ty shine in the locker room

his stats were around 17, 11, and 4 blocks as a freshman

he has been nowhere near as impressive in the nba and needs to toughen up to stick around when his contract expires

ROCK: I introduced Obama at the Apollo Theater not too long ago. I think Obama would be great. I mean, just look the big thing right now is the economy. And people are going broke. And here: The choice isn't Republican or Democrat. The choice is you got a guy that's worth $150 million with 12 houses against a guy who's worth a million dollars with one house.
KING: Well --
ROCK: The guy with one house really cares about losing a house, because he is homeless. The other guy can lose five houses and still got a bunch of houses. Does this make any sense? Am I the only one that sees this?
KING: It's unique way of ...
ROCK: I'm just saying, John McCain could lose half his houses.
KING: You got a point.
ROCK: And sleep well.

Incredible talent in college. Was the go-to-guy on a Seton Hall team with big expectations. But had reluctancy to play a team and a habit of hovering around the 3 point arc to impress pro scouts. Really selfish. Punched PG Ty Shine in the face following a loss in which he didn't get the ball in the closing seconds. His attitude in combination with Tommy Amaker being a total a**hole tore that talented team apart. I'm happy he's underachieving in the pros. He deserves it.
