Re: Currently Reading
Just finished Kronos and found it a good summerish read. The cover can be a bit misleading.
Now I'm deciding between Fathom by Cherie Priest Sleeper by Steven Harriman Master of lies by Graham Masterton or Friday Night in Beast house by Richard Laymon. |

Re: Currently Reading
Just finished I Am Legend by Richard Matheson a week or two or three back. Wasn't feeling it at first. Didn't really dig his style. But, as the book moved on, it really got into some meaty territory. This book needs justice in a movie. The Will Smith version isn't really like the book, in any way.
And I just started Deadeye Dick by Kurt Vonnegut. As usual with Vonnegut, I'm loving it. This is like the 11th novel I've read of his.

Re: Currently Reading
Reading The Black Hand by Chris Blatchford.
It's a behind the scenes look at the Mexican Mafia told by killer turned informant Rene "Boxer" Enriquez. It's not a great read, but the scenes are scarring. This is one of the only crime books that document murders that doesn't glamorize it. There's a certain brutality to it that shakes me, but the honesty reins it in.

Re: Currently Reading
About to read DMZ by Brian Wood. Read the opening chapter not too long, but wanted to read more. Really interesting premise, Manhattan/NY has basically turned into a war zone and no one can get into the Island, well no one cept a few photojournalists. Anywhoo without giving too much up, an unsuspecting journalist gets stranded on the island, and gets to see what the rest of the world is oblivious too. This book is like Glenn Beck's wet fantasy, the gore, the imagination is off the charts.

Rich Dad Poor Dad - Robert Kiyosaki
autobiographic style of how he learned about money and how to make money work for you, just started, very easy read, pretty smart profound and simple stuff, so far so good

Re: Currently Reading
Excellent read. I probably buy this book for more people than anything else.

Re: Currently Reading
Preacher by Garth Ennis
This book is really over the top on violence and sexual content, but then again thats typical of Garth Ennis projects. Boils down to a pissed off Preacher out to find God and give him a good talking to, and when I say talking to, I am not talking about sitting down to tea and crumpets.

Re: Currently Reading
I am feeling the same way too. I keep drawing parallels between it and Lucifer, which I think covers the whole God and pissed off follower quite well, actually way better!!!!

Re: Currently Reading
What's disappointing about Preacher is it's more of a cowboy love story than anything else. There are some highlights, but overall it's pretty disappointing. There is a lot of filler too.
