I'm going to second this, he was my least favourite of the modernists. Try any other of them, instead. Dawn Powell is probably the best of the lot, and so much more entertaining for the way she lampooned them all, including Hemingway and Fitzgerald, in the process. The Wicked Pavilion and The Golden Spur are two of the best.

Yeah, I'm in a real tough slog through Petersburg by Andrey Bely. This is the slowest I've read a book in years. Poetic stream of consciousness prose is not for me.

Finished Hunger Games. Didn't like it that much. Going to try and finish Bill Simmons's Book of Basketball later tonight.

Yeh, the story really, really dropped off after Myshkin left. I think I've read about 20 pages in the last month. I'm going to try to persevere, but if it doesn't work, I'm going to test out Notes from Underground since it's short before I try another large Dostoevsky work.

Thats where I stay mostly. I'm reading a book of short stories that my great grandfather owned. My favorite out of it so far is, no surprise here, The Bear by Faulkner
