Chuck Palahniuk's Survivor. His satire on a society obsessed with image, style over substance, and all other of our collective idiosyncrasies is endlessly amusing. Just finished Egger's A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius, on deck.. sticking with Palahniuk: Lullaby.

Really enjoying Atlas Shrugged right now... but know I am going to ditch it in two days while I smash through the newest Dresden Files.

It gets ungodly slow near the end.

Still, its a book I'll always remember and glad that I went through it.

Completely agree. And feel about the same. I'd say the ending wasn't too bad - it was the 150 pages that Dagny spent in the valley that bored the shit out of me.

Re: Currently Reading

Just finished A Memory of Light - the final novel in A Wheel of Time. 13 books. Probably about 12000 pages of literature. Great series, great ending. Very happy with how they finished it off.

That's what I'm finishing right now myself. Have you read the rest of Sanderson's work? It's all great

Re: Currently Reading

Just finishing Stephen Lawhead's King Raven books, a re-imagining of the Robin Hood story moving it back in time by a century to set it during the Norman invasion of Wales under William II. Interesting for its portrayal of a neglected time (in terms of fiction). The author makes a very good case for why Robin Hood was far more likely British than English and far more likely to have risen to prominence during the late 11th century than the late 12th in an appendix.

Just finished a trio of running books. Ultramarathonman, Born to Run, and Once a Runner. All distinctly different. I've been on a running kick this month myself so it fit. Trying to get myself back in sub 18 minute 5K shape (nearly 10 years since I was there) and the books help keep my mental focus on it.
