Re: Currently Reading
Reading Forever Odd by Dean Koontz and it just about sucks the most *** of any book I've ever read in my life.
I have 50 pages left and I don't know if I have it in me to finish it. I liked Odd Thomas a lot because it gave you a reason to care about the character and he's in a situation you felt he was in danger. This book comes across like Koontz wanted to make a sequel due to how well the prior book sold and it shows big time. The quips are forced, the writing is dry, and he's saving a character you have no reason to care about. Why should we care about his friend? Oh he has brittle bones and they break and reform in a weird shape. He happens to be Odd's friend who Odd doesn't mention AT ALL in the first book. Oh okay. Then the protagonist is just a woman who's obsessed with anything occult and just regurgitates all of these beliefs for no reason. What makes this worse is that there have already been three cases of deus ex machina and I still have 50 pages left.

When The Game Stands Tall- Neil Hayes
Book about De La Salles winning streak during the ninties and very early part of this decade. Goes into detail about the training and everything the team went through. If you like football I would recommend it. |

Re: Currently Reading
i have several times and i'm sure many others have as well
as for my thoughts, its good. read it. its not like the be all end all source on malcolm x by any means, but it is a good story and a good starting point to learn about one of the more compelling figures in recent history.
