Boston spanks New Jersey!

I am surprised to see such little action on this board in reference to last nights game against the Nets.

Shammond Williams was very impressive. I knew he was a dead eye shooter but 9 rebounds. That is unreal for a guy his size (or should I say lack of size). Shammond is flat out quick and always hustling. He is playing solid D and pushing the ball up well.
He was an incredible steal in the trade with Seattle.

Delk continues to have a brilliant season. Over 50% from the three point arc this season is too wicked.

When this team is playing to its potential it is very difficult to stop. It all starts with superstars who know how and when to pass the ball (pay attention to Paul and Antoine, Kobe, you will learn something). That is what separates All-Stars from champions. An All-Star is someone who transforms himself into a great player a champion is someone who transforms his teammates into great players.

Great game by the Celtics. Pierce andWalker struggled but they got the win. It was the first time in a year that neither pierce or walker led the team in scoring. They played great defense and didn't allow many fast break baskets. Hopefully we can do that in the playoffs.

That was a huge game, which of course doesn't make me miss Kenny. Shammy is great, right? When was the last time we had a Point Guard that can shoot and rebound come off the bench and lead the team in scoring? I am telling you guys this isn't the team that was two years ago (The Pierce and Walker team), now its the Celtics, once those guys pull on those shirts, they gotta die for those colors and will bleed green.

I don't think Pierce and Walker struggled at all, and in fact I think Pierce played very well in the second half. They double and triple team him every time he gets the ball. He is finally learning to pass out of the double team, so that the ball can swing to the open man. They held Pierce and Walker below their averages. So what? As a result, Williams and Delk scored 42 between them. It's a team game, and if both Pierce and Walker have to score 25 for the C's to win, then they are going nowhere.

Pierce also had 13 rebounds. He had some dumb fouls and turnovers in the first half, but was relatively clean in the second.

This game also reinforced my pre season prediction that Mutombo is on his last legs and was a bad acquisition for NJ. Right now I would be happy to trade either Mutumbo or Vin Baker even up for Todd McCulloch. Mutombo and Baker used to be All Stars, but right now McCulloch is better.

And I'm not bashing Baker, who is helping the C's even without scoring that much. He defended and rebounded pretty well last night. He only scored one basket, but Mutumbo, who played more minutes, didn't do any better. I silently cheered whenever the ball went in to Mutombo, because that meant Kidd didn't have it.

Well played game by the Celtics overall, I think Pierce and Walker's production were down, and 2 other guys stepped up big. I tip my cap to them. I honestly beleived that JKidd would kill them after the way their fans treated his family, but I shocked he didn't.
