The only reason that deal didn't go down (Pierce for Allen) was because Seattle said no. This was said on cnn/si the TV station.

That means Walker is not staying here next year and Danny is also trying to get rid of Pierce. Enjoy the next 3 months because that is all we are getting.

Secondly, trading for Allen means that we are dumping Pierce's contract because Allen has an expiring contract. Walker also has an expiring contract. This likely means Antoine won't resign as Danny likely wants to rebuild with lots of cap room. Don't be suprised to see Pierce traded in the off season.

Here on Comcast TV we have two sports channels. One on 49 that is ESPN by itself and one on 248 that also airs sometimes on NESN. THEY ARE THE ONES WHO SAID THAT SEATTLE TURNED DOWN THE DEAL. They wanted no part of Paul Pierce and seeing how Seattle is a top 3 team in the West common sense says that is the case.

ok ok im not trying to start anything but i heard the opposite...but wouldnt this signal danny wanting to now build this team around al, kendrick, tony, pp, toine, and ricky? i think it does and would be shocked to see pierce traded any year soon or toine not extended...both complement eachother and i am so glad toine is back...i just hope danny now keeps these guys together 4 a long tyme..no hard feelings all around

from what ESPN said (marc stein/chad ford) the deal didnt go down simply because the celtics declined. the sonics didnt want to have to worry about resigning allen in offseason.

I've heard that Seattle declined the trade. It was supposed to be something like Allen and Swift for Pierce and maybe another guy.
