I'm not sure how mixed our opinions are here. I've heard some fans disgusted at Gary because they seem to believe he has slowed down so much in his latter years that he can no longer be an effective player. On the flipside of that I've heard fans that are glad to have him back because of his experience.

Thoughts?

It's good cause it adds depth to the bench. If he gets slowed down than just put one of the younger guys back in.

I was critical of him before, but now with a team that can do so much damage in the playoffs, I'm more then happy to have him back. Plus if we can limit his minutes, and develop Banks as well as West at the same time, then Gary is worth more then anyone has expected him to be.

I picked negative, but that is because I'm a Nets fan.

I think adding Walker to the team you had before the deadline may you guys a much better team obviously.

I'm disapointed the Hawks would make 2 stupid trades in a row at the deadline (this and last years')...

I see both positive and negatives to it. I think Payton will help run the offense and his return is good because it lets the young kids see someone who knows how to run an offense and influence Delonte and Marcus. The negative is that I feel that Delonte and Marcus have the support system in place (Walker, Pierce, and Davis all can handle the ball) that they can play and be successful.

But you know once the playoffs come it is going to be a totally different story.

Now I know Walker, Pierce and Davis can all handle the ball, but I'd rather have the ball in a guys hands who's been through times like these, knows what to do, and will find make everyone around him better. If Banks and West continue to play like they have tonight, then we'll be in pretty good shape.

I voted both, but I feel its more of a positive than a negative. He's still a great point guard and tremendous veteran presence on the team. The only downfall is reduced PT for the youngsters, but it does seem that Doc is commited to playing 10 or 11 deep which very few coaches/teams do in this league.

I think it's a positive all the way. Doc will make sure everyone still gets their minutes but GP's change on playing for Boston has been a total 360 and that's really saying something for what Danny & Doc are doing here. Gary has been all class since coming to the team and a future hall of fame presence like that is good for EVERYONE, even Paul and Antoine. Gary sees something in this team, he passed up Pheonix to come back here, that makes me excited!
