Mid-season, next year. It all depends on whether we resign Antoine. Plus, I think Raef will be replaced in the starting lineup at the center position next year, anyways.

Wouldn't mind seeing him be in the starting roll mid-season of next year.

Whenever he figures out defense. Probably a year to two from now.

Re: how many more years do you think Big Al is away from a starting roll
I would say two years, unless we re-sign walker in which i think he will be the first big off the bench until he leaves and then he will dominate when he gets his chance, just like mchale did if i read my bed time stories right.

Re: how many more years do you think Big Al is away from a starting roll
I think they are going to really focus on defense with him for next season. His offensive game is complete already, it's just his defense holding him back....as soon as he figures that out, he will become a starter....he wants to learn VERY badly and he's eager to work on whatever he needs to so it may be sooner than we think.

I think I need to add to my previous brilliance. He needs some work on his body. That shouldn't be a problem though (see Kendrick Perkins). If Al Jefferson comes back next season looking like Perkins does, he might be tough to keep out of the starting lineup, even if he doesn't learn defense. I'm hoping that Jefferson can spend his summer in Chicago with Antoine and Tony Allen. After a summer of that, he might be ready to go.

Something tells me he'll be spending the time with Toine. I mean he did give Toine his number 8 back because he wanted something in return.
I hope Kendrick joins them, too.
