Good list, but I'd put Maggette in the last row.
Pierce could easily be shot up to the 2nd row if he would stop worrying about his rebounding stats and actually played some defense. People get open 3s against us because Paul's under the basket and his man is wide open.
Paul is not as talented as T-Mac, Kobe or James, but if he could return to his 2002-03 form, he would be up with them.
02-03 I would have taken Paul over any of those guys now, because at that time Paul had the competitiveness. He had something to prove, now I guess he thinks he doesn't.
I used to love Paul, but these past 2 years he really bothered me that he went from one of my favorites to one of my least favorites. He doesn't have the passion for the game as he once did. Remember, he was the guy that led the league in FTA and FTM just a few years back. Now I don't think he's even in the top 5.

You would have taken him last year over Lebron? Lebron was 19 then!!!

Re: Rating Pierce vs. Other Shooting Guards...
Oh, that list was in order of where you thought the players were in terms of talent?
I'm trying to click on the laugh smilie, but I can't. But you get the picture.
LeBron should be at the top, of course.
Ricky Davis and Corey Maggette don't really deserve to be on the list with the rest of them.

I did the list in tiers, hence the lines.

Re: Rating Pierce vs. Other Shooting Guards...
I figured that out.
I would put Michael Redd in the next tier up instead of Corey Maggette.
I would also drop any player out of the top tier if his team doesn't make the playoffs.

LeBron's a great player, but I've never seen the fire out of a SG/SF like I've seen out of Pierce that year. He gave it his all.
Kobe, I love but the guy never uses his head.
T-Mac, you could say that he's turning into what Pierce was 2 years ago
Bron, he's still too young.
All three of these players have much more talent than Pierce has (better ball handlers, more athletic, etc) but Pierce gave it more than he even had. Which is why I would have taken him over any of those guys.

Its true that all three of those have better skills and talent, but where is the heart that Pierce showed that put him into that category? The guy can be dominant if he wants to, but he is far from caring at this point in time.

He is now, but he wasn't 2 years ago. I'm saying that I would have taken the old Pierce over any of these guys.
Remember the New Jersey comeback? Remember the game vs the Nets where he had 46 points? He took it to the hoop, he played defense, he helped the team win. Now he's caring about the stats more than anything else.

Old Pierce is right behind Duncan, Shaq, and KG. This Pierce is pretty far behind many people. I'd love to have old Pierce back, but I don't know where to find him. I wish Antoine could find him, but it seems like even he can't.
