Will the Celtics take the night off vs NJ?
I've heard it both ways on this topic:
1) Celitcs will play their stars alot of minutes and play hard to spoil the Nets playoff run to avenge losses in '02 and '03. Also, some Boston media felt that Lawrence Frank left Kidd and Vince in too long in the 4th quarter in the most recent game at Continental Airlines Arena.
2) Celtics stars will get reduced minutes to prevent stupid injuries (rolled ankles, sprained fingers, etc) and rest them for the playoffs in this meaningless (for the Celtics) game.
What do you Celtics fans think?

Re: Will the Celtics take the night off vs NJ?
Nevermind, take a look at the articles I found:
Boston.com article
Doc Rivers:
"I'm going to keep the minutes the exact same," Rivers said. "I think it's only fair. It's the right thing to do. If we did it against Cleveland, we do it against New Jersey."
In other words, look for a lot of Danny Ainge's draft picks in the fourth quarter tonight.
"It's important that the young guys get some time," Payton said. "They're going to have to be ready."
That's the theory, anyway.

It's fair though, the young guys played a lot vs the Cavs and in the 4th quarter they were all on the floor, it's only fair to do the same this time around...plus we have to look out for ourselves and we can't afford to have one of our key guys go down with an injury in a game that doesn't matter for us.

Your bench played pretty well against Cavs and took advantage of their turnovers; by no means is this an easy game for the Nets.

You are right, there have been nights when our bench has outperformed the starters so it all depends how it goes.

AMEN!
I didn't get to watch the game last night, but I listened to the Cavaliers radio broadcast and they commented a couple of times on the C's kids and at one point one of them said something about the C's having their entire second unit on the floor and the other commentator said that the second unit was playing better than the starters. I was sitting there thinking that there have been a number of times this year when that was the case. The second unit is talented, and IMHO plays harder than most of the starters. New Jersey is hungry and they are playing well right now, but even playing against our kids this game will be no pushover for them.
On another note, the Cav's radio announcers were surprisingly complimentary of Ricky Davis last night. With all that happened when he was with their team I was surprised to hear them commenting on how much he has meant to the C's without taking the obvious opportunity for cheap shots. I thought it was extrememly classy of them.
