GAME 81: Celtics (45-35) at Cleveland (40-40)
The Legend of Zelda has a chance to grow this year as...wait...sorry.
The Legend of LeBron has a chance to grow Tuesday night as the Cavs get their chance to go at the Atlantic Division Champion Boston Celtics.
Paul, Antoine, Gary, Ricky and the kids will be in Cleveland to take on LeBron, Big Z, and the Cavs. The Cavs got off to a rapid start getting as many as nine games above .500 by the end of January. Things have gone down hill from there as the Cavs have fallen to .500 and, were the season to end today, LeBron's Cavs would not make the playoffs.
LeBron has been simply magnificent with 27.1 ppg, 7.3 rpg, 7.1 apg, and 2.21 spg. LeBron has also shot very well, going 47.2% from the field and 35% from three point land. Zydrunas Ilgauskas has done well in his second fiddle role with 17.0 ppg, 8.7 rpg, and 2.12 spg. He has also been suprisingly durable, playing in 76 of the Cavs' 80 games. Drew Gooden has performed well, though not as well as Carlos Boozer would have done. Gooden has put ups 14.6 ppg and 9.2 rpg, while shooting 49.4% from the field. Jeff McInnis has a good stat line with 13.0 ppg and 5.2 apg, but has been on a steady decline all year, much like the Cavs as a team. Anderson Varejao has been one of the bright spots all year with his 4.9 ppg and 4.7 rpg in just 16.8 mpg. The young Brazilian second rounder seems to have put himself on a fast track to be the second coming of Carlos Boozer. Jiri Welsch struggled this year iwth the Celtics, but he has flat out sucked hard in the 15 games he's played with the Cavs. Welsch has put up just 3.1 ppg and 1.9 rpg, but is shooting a putrid 23.5% from the floor and 18.2% from three point land.
The Chicago Bulls hold the fourth seed right now and stand 11 games behind the first place Miami Heat. The Celtics are 12 games back. These next two games are still must haves for the Celtics. However, by record the C's are tied with Washington for fourth in the Conference, so they will have home court in the first round with one win or one Pacers loss. Regardless of how things end up, the Celtics won't have home court in the second round, unless the 76ers can take out the Pistons.

Lord yeah ! .. I get to go to this one.
I really can't wait.
Hope the C's ride this winning streak out for the rest of the year.
I'll be there sporting my Pierce jersey all the way baby..
Let's see if Paul and the Atlantic division champs can beat LeBron and his cavs.

Re: GAME 81: Celtics (45-35) at Cleveland (40-40)
The Cavs are struggeling, the Celtics are hot, I know where I'm putting my money in the uCash Sportsbook.
But seriously, the Celtics need to take this game with ease. I do not want this game to be more competitive than it needs to be. The Cavs are still very young so we need to take them out mentally mostly because I want to see Perk, Al, Banks, Allen, West and even Reed for an extended amount of time.
I WANT TO SEE A BLOWOUT PLEASE.
You know what sucks about blowouts? There really isn't a scrub to throw out there and not care if he gets injured or not, at least 10 players are considered as the main part of the rotation, so even a blowout could be a blow ( ) for the Celtics.
I love the Picture, nice find Agoo.

Yeah, it really isn't what I'd call a find as much as I'd call it a location and use.

Well with the division all wrapped up, I assume that Doc Rivers is going to let the young guys get some more playing time for this one.
If Boston wins this one, they could eliminate the Cavs from the playoffs.

Nah, we still have a 4th goal in mind (I just keep making these up as we keep reaching each goal), it's to be the real 3rd team in the east, but we'll need some help from the Bulls.
It will also be nice to see 3 teams from the Titanic make the playoffs.

I don't think Doc will cut them back too much. You'll probably see Paul and Antoine getting 30 each. Ricky will get 25. Gary will get 20. Raef and Blount will get 20 each. The young guys would take the rest. With the playoffs so close, I don't think you can get too far out of the regular rotation.

Re: GAME 81: Celtics (45-35) at Cleveland (40-40)
The Celts virtually control who will get in the playoffs as they play both Cleveland and NJ.
You guys don't really need the Cleveland game, already have your spot locked up and beat us in Cleveland earlier in the year. NJ on the other hand, division rival, blow out a few games ago, MUST WIN game for the Celts

I think you should bring a sign to the game that says "I want a Tommy Point for basketballboards.net"
