Dino Radja

What happend to Dino Radja i was pretty young when he played for the celtics but i remebered him being pretty talented Until i looked him up recently though i didnt realize he only played for 4 seasons. In those 4 seasons however he averaged 8 and a half rebounds and nearly 17 points with those numbers youd think he could have lasted a bit longer. so my question is why only 4 years and also why after being drafted in the 1989 draft did he not join the team until 93

Re: Dino Radja

From what I can gather in the little information that I can find Radja went over to Europe when the NBA locked out in 1999 and apparently stayed there.

That's the last picture I could find of him from sometime in 2003.

His contract was bought out by the C's in July of 1997.

He is now the president of his home club Split, so he is still involved in basketball.

Dino said that the biggest reason he didn't resign with the Celtics was because of Rick Pitino. He is quoted in saying that Pitino "had the eyes of a liar." So he went back to Europe after that.

All I know is that Dino was unstopable in NBA Jam TE.

I saw a Dino Radja jersey at a game I was at this season. The second Bobcats game I believe.

Re: Dino Radja

Dino stayed in Europe for a while after being drafted which is pretty normal, especially back then, he wasn't ready to come to the NBA yet. He was very good for the Celtics but his game wilted under Pitino and then he went back to Europe but I think he was already in his 30's at that point.
