Bobby Jackson

Ainge has already made it public that the PG tandem next year won't be just banks/west. It's likely that he is looking to use the MLE on a PG such as antonio daniels. However, many teams are looking at him and it will be hard to lure him into Boston.

So if that fails, how would you guys feel about signing bobby jackson for 1 year at $5.4 million?

Best case, he is a decent point guard who stimulates the offense and makes us a better team next year.

Worst case, he gets hurt and is an expiring contract that may be dealt in February.

low risk, high reward...i like it.

Re: Bobby Jackson

I wouldn't mind using the MLE on Bobby Jackson for one year, but I feel Marcus Banks can almost match Jackson's productivity next season if given the same amount of touches. It never hurts to have good players, though. We could always split the minutes at point guard.

Re: Bobby Jackson

bobby jackson will only be good for 20-24 minutes a game anyway. the only time he's exceeded that # for a season average was 02-03 when he played 28 a game, but after all of the injuries he's suffered over the past few years there's no way to expect that he'll be able to play more than that.

and although banks has shown flashes of brilliance, he has not yet reached the point where the team would refuse to give another point guard a short term deal because they are worried that he'll lose minutes. if he earns minutes next year, he'll get them bobby jackson or no bobby jackson

Re: Bobby Jackson

I love Bobby Jackson, I really do but the last 3 years he's missed 23 games, 30 games and 57 games. He's never played a full NBA season and has only had 70+ games 3 times in 8 years.

Re: Bobby Jackson

ahh nevermind then.

i guess first we should go for daniels or watson for the MLE, if they fail get darrell armstrong or travis best for the low level exception
