Where does he rank all time? I see why his retirement was a big deal- he played for the same team for 18 years, scoring double digits in each and every one of them. Also, he is one of the greatest shooters of all time and had many great clutch shots.

However, he didn't do much of anything else besides shoot, he never won a championship and compiled most of his stats on teams that weren't great- he only won 55+ games 3 times, and the only time he won 60+ was last year thanks to mr. o'neal and mr. artest.

altogether i'd say he's a very nice player but not a legend. i'd rank him around 90-100th overall all time.

He was utterly one-dimensional. That being said, he had the dimension mastered.

this list is very rough but the point is that reggie doesn't even rank that high among current players. throw in a several other eras of players and i think he's around 90-100 territory.

reggie may not be one of the best all time players...but he definetely is one of the best all time clutch performers

very well put. he's a star because he was the #1 man on his team, and because he was so ****ing amazing at what he did.

but to be a superstar, he simple needed to do more tha what he did.


not taking away form him at all. as Pdub said, he had that one dimension mastered like no one else. but it just wasn't enough.

no ive never seen jerry west play...and barely have seen bird...im only 20...i just ranked my top 3 clutch players from what i have seen...i cant speak for anyone before my time
