Yes! You get it. We haven't had a decent center since The Chief and our overall team defense and rebounding just hasn't been near the top 5-10 in the league since those old Bird days. Correct, you are.

Ah, see. I misread that. I thought he said the problem with Pierce was that. I didn't realize he was referring to the entire team. My bad.

Re: The Celtics Should Keep Pierce

i would absolutely not trade pierce for rasheed or rip.

rasheed is 30 and isn't even a top 10 PF in the league...yes he's a good player, but he is far from being a franchise player.

rip is just worse than pierce in almost every way imaginable.

big ben merits consideration because he is one of the few good centers in the league...his rebounding and defense are extremely valuable. however, he is 30, he can't score, and his free throws are killer. i think i would still keep pierce over him.

i love chauncey and i hate that we gave him up, but he's not a great PG (5.8 apg this year = good but not great) and i wouldn't give up pierce to get him.

tayshaun may have the greatest trade value of everyone on the team...he's become a solid scorer, good passer, good rebounder, and he's the best wing defender in the league who's not insane...not to mention the fact that he's still getting better. him vs. pierce would be a tough decision but i think i'd still keep paul.

Re: The Celtics Should Keep Pierce

Were Paul Pierce on the Pistons, he'd be their best player. However, would the Pistons be a championship team? I personally don't think so. Pierce won't be the number one guy on a championship team.

I Think We Should trade Pierce...we should build a team who wants to win....(Not care about themself) A Good Team Chemistry..Pierce for Ray Allen....YEAH...Maybe..Delonte West/Banks at pg...TA at sg..Ray allen at SF..Al jefferson at Center with Raef an Maybe pick up a good PF in the draft...Warrick?Sean May?R.Morris?
