Celtics looking at Nemanja Aleksandrov?

Nemanja Aleksandrov- According to his agent David Bauman, Nemanja is fishing for a promise in Top 20 to stay in. As of right now, they have not received one. Even if he does, he will stay in Europe next year to develop and rehab his knee. According to our sources, if Nemanja does stay in, look for him to be drafted by Boston, Memphis, Phoenix or Denver.

Aleksandrov was really hyped at the beginning of the last season, but he has slid down to our range.

Re: Celtics looking at Nemanja Aleksandrov?
Reading the outlook part of the DE profile, Nemanja sounds a lot like Tskitishvilli, and in a draft that will see good players from the top of the draft through to the end of the first round, I don't want to draft Skita.

Yeah he did....when did they get rid of the idea that you could draft a player who didn't apply, Like the Celts did with Bird? That would be fun to draft 6th graders and wait til a year after they graduate (under the new CBA) to sign them...

Boykins is beastly.
And I'm sick of hearing about all these foreigners. How bout we just get a good old American from a U.S. College instead of taking chances on foreigners. For every good foreign player there is 10 lousy ones that don't ever amount to anything. See: Jiri Welsch.
Besides, I want people that have names that I can pronounce.

It doesn't roll off the tongue as easily though. Like you know like Tony Allen...nice and simple. Delonte West, Justin Reed. All nice and easy. Then you get a Nemanja Aleksandrov. Eh. Though I suppose it could be fun to yell NEMANJA !!! YEAHHHHH. Nah. lol

Maybe it's just me (because I come from there).
BTW, of course Tony Allen is easy, his whole name consists of first names.

Exactly my point. Same with like Paul Pierce, or Ricky Davis. Nice and simple.
off topic: Are the finals over yet so I can change my damn avatar? I'm getting sick of looking at Ben Gordon.

Yeah like Raef LaFrentz and Shaquille O'Neal and Antawn (pronounced An -Twan) Jamison.....
I mean this is the new millenium and we live in a global marketplace connected by a worldwide web. Can't you get over you small town yokel attitude towards European players?
I like watching great players and I don't care how they pronounce their names. It is their game that I pay to see!

Re: Celtics looking at Nemanja Aleksandrov?
In the grand scheme of things, Aleksandrov isn't that hard of a name to pronounce.
Of course, I should mention that the foreigners with the easy names (Kirilenko, Parker, Nowitzki, Gasol, Ginobili) tend to be better than those with difficult names (Tskitishvilli, Pietrus, Planinic, etc).

If you couldn't tell, I was joking.
In any case, I'm not really sold on foreign players. It's hard to judge what kind of talent they would have over here. I'd rather risk college players or even high school kids over here, than look overseas.
