that may or may not be true - but what does that have to do with his intensity? Eric Williams might be a swell guy and a good cheerleader- but let's be honest. the guy is done. he legs are shot. anyone here that is not a Williams sunshiner will agree with me on that.

I am not but look at the difference in records from 01-02 to 04-05. We were much better back then. I think our team was stronger this past year but we were far more productive 3 years ago because we had team chemistry which we don't have now

I would not trade our current team and situation for the team before Ainge got here for anything. What Ainge has done in a short period of time is nothing short of amazing. We have 7 players 23 years of age or younger. We have exactly 2 players in Pierce and Blount still with the team since Ainge arrived. Chemistry takes a little time. Let these guys play together a little and see what happens before you pine for the good old days of 01-02. We have an impressive squad that we should be proud of. We have genuine hope for the future. We have some serious talent. I'll take it.

Yes we do have serious talent, and you are basically proving my point. You were saying that Pierce is a leader so I figured that I would compare when we had Williams and the record we had 01-92 to this past season. There is no doubt in my mind that the Celtics had a better team with more talent this past year, but the record did nt even compare to 01-02 and look at the division we were in the weak Atlantic. I think that the team needs some sort of behind tghe scenes motivator to get the team pumped before the game. If we had Williams he would bring that.

Re: Green, Gomes answer questions on Celtics.com
Again we are a very young team with guys who have played together for about a year. Give it a little time and we'll blow away 01-02. Ainge's goal is banner #17 - not to lose in the ECF. Eric Williams is not a guy we want or need back on the Celtics. Good riddance to him.

Re: Green, Gomes answer questions on Celtics.com
I agree but I still think last years team was better than the 01-02 team even if they were a lot of rookies. I think a good motivator would have helped inhspire ans win games

A good motivator who can also play? Yes. But wih youth there is nothing like experience. And that takes time. As Danny keeps saying...patience.

You obviously think numbers are the ONLY thing. There is more to it bud. I will leave it at that because you are only listening to yourself'
BTW you keep saying that we will get better over time. I have said I agree with you multiple times on that. But we still should of had a better record last year, then in 01-02 because we had a better team last year

yes but you seem to be making the point that Eric Williams would have made the difference. I am saying that what makes the difference with a team full of new players and lots of youth is time and experience. And that Williams days are done.

You seem to only want a motivator that can put up stats, BUD

yes. I want players that at least can still play.
so let me ask you this, bud. If Williams did not play even one minute for the Celtics - you'd still take him back and think he'd help us win games?

I told you I want Williams as a motivator not a player. Sure he will get some garbage minutes b | |
